To those of us with 6 speeds that have lurchy throttles after tuning, any news yet as to whether or not they've come up with a fix? I went back to stock because the neck thrashing was starting to get a little bit annoying, hate the fact that I paid $375 for the damn thing and can't use the tuning because of that.

Leave it in second. Works most of the time. Mine bucks pretty good in first, if i leave it in second at low speeds its very do-able. I certainly wouldn't not use the tune because of it though..

Please buy the Hypertech.

I need your crappy luck to accelerate their 2010 support, so my currently-useless device will become useable and I can get a move-on on my regear+tires!

Has anyone tested the MPG on a stock geared/tired model? I'm guessing most of the MPG improvements are erroneous since the odometer was off before the correction.

Do you notice any difference using the 89 octane with the 87 tune? I thought I saw you posted somewhere before that you had some pinging using 87 octane with the 87 tune and when you switched to 89 that went away, i'd like to avoid pinging and what not, I tend to freak out a little when I start hearing odd noises coming from the engine lol.

adam - do you have pinging now with 87 or just being cautious? the only time i have ever noticed pinging with the superchips, on any tune, is when i first installed and the install clearly didn't take properly (i.e., my speedo didn't register, etc.).

That I haven't noticed. I'm driving the Jeep again today and will see. Probably no change at low speeds. But my pinging is certainly gone, my torque is noticeably better with the 89 octane on 87 tune.

Will let you know. My 'shutter' is also gone when changing to relatively high gears at low speeds.

I've been running the 87 tune on stock tires/stock 4:10's for around a month and a half. I've actually had a decrease in mileage since tuning. I expected that on the first tank, but it has been less on every tank since. I've been keeping a mileage log for several months prior so I do have some data to compare back to. And I hand calculate mpg and don't rely on the stock display.

At first I thought it must be my driving style around town, but on recent highway trips it has also been down. I was getting around 21.5-22 on the highway before, now I average 19.5. City is probably about 1.5 mpg less also. Really the only thing I can figure is that it was off before (My speedometer is dead on now). It's either that or I just haven't found the speed that gives me the best highway mileage yet. I've been meaning to go back to stock and then reload the tune, but I keep forgetting.

Anyway, the performance increase and additional options are what I like anyway. Gas mileage is overrated (except to the bank account). I should have 35's soon anyway and mpg's will probably be more like what I got with my YJ.

It's really not that bad if you work the clutch a bit. Still a really good investment despite the fact, you'll enjoy it!
