Thanks, fwbb
I have kinda wondered this myself. But to my understanding, unless they have upgraded it with something you want, there is no reason to update. Meaning, all the other basic features stay the same. That's why I haven't upgraded since I've owned it. So unless they come out with an update saying they have upgraded, say, the 87 octane setting, or that they now have specific auto tranny shift points, or the like, then I probably won't update till I see something extra that I need. Maybe Scott will clarify...???

I agree. It would be nice to be notified when updates are available.

I downloaded mine for the first time with the 87 octane setting and its a night and day difference. I have a MOPAR CAI and did not update the firmware. I am running 89. Everything seems to be working in harmony. I picked mine up for $285 new and worth every penny.

I love my Flashpaq. I have a 3" lift, 35" tires, and 5.13 gears and I was really frustrated at the performance and shift points with the stock tune. One drive after the 87 tune was installed convinced me my money was well spent. I get 2.5 better MPG and it will eventually pay for itself.

Oh and Goody.....when I return back to stock settings is when I REALLY say............"how did I ever live without it".....lol. Of course I'm running the auto too.
I have been chasing a pinging sound the past few days and finally i noticed it was only at 3-3.5k rpm under heavy loads and DUH its pinging, or pre-detonation...

I used a fillup of 89 and a lucus fuel system treatment (car sat a lot while i was deployed) it ran great last week, but when i filled up with 87 bam yesterday i got heavy pinging.

today i went to the autoparts store and bought the NOS brand 12 dollar methonal octane boost(not street legal but i dont care) and topped it off with 5 gallons of premium... the pinging is more or less gone unless i push it hard in the higher RPMs or if it goes from 3rd to 2nd when i mash the gas it pings...

I am going to pull the neg and put it back to stock and see what it does because this pinging sucks...

I just got mine today.
One questions if the battery is disconneced would the tune have to be redone?

I don't believe so. The tune is programmed into the computer. It is not volitale memory. On my last vehicle I took out the PCM and put it back and didn't mess up the tune.

Had no pinging last might when i came back from the movies(it was a lot cooler last night than during the day). I cleaned the little senser in the air tube(wasnt dirty really). Today I uninstalled the flashpaq(back to stock) and let it sit off the battery for 5 min... drove it around, viola no ping... i dont know if i am going to reinstall it again, i might just sell it the ping is freaking annoying and makes me feel like i have a 93 probe gt all over again(many cars ago was falling apart) we will see i guess...

im going to make sure this bad gas gets run out just in case thats the issue. I also updated my flashpaq again we will see how it does
