Superchips Flashpaq for JK, Initial Impressions
Had no pinging last might when i came back from the movies(it was a lot cooler last night than during the day). I cleaned the little senser in the air tube(wasnt dirty really). Today I uninstalled the flashpaq(back to stock) and let it sit off the battery for 5 min... drove it around, viola no ping... i dont know if i am going to reinstall it again, i might just sell it the ping is freaking annoying and makes me feel like i have a 93 probe gt all over again(many cars ago was falling apart) we will see i guess...
im going to make sure this bad gas gets run out just in case thats the issue. I also updated my flashpaq again we will see how it does

Okay, I recently installed 315 75 R 16 Toyo MT's and went to adjust my speedo with the Superchips. Initially I dialed in my gearing at 3.73 and then the actual tire diameter which is 34.9". Well using my GPS, my mph was off by 5 miles over actual. So I kept downsizing my tire diameter size a 1/4" at a time until I got it to match speed at 33". This doesn't make sense to me. I had to double check that I had 315's (35") and not 33's and nope, I had the right tires. Anybody have any idea why I had to dial in 33's to correct speedo for 35's?

I did this with mine and the speed is within 1 mph of my GPS reading.
If you have the correct gear ratio, double check it saved it, it should be correct. How did you measure your tires? 34.9" for a 35" tire sounds like wishful thinking. Since you stated the size in tenths did you measure them yourself. Hold a level across the top of the tire centering the bubble. Then measure from the level to the ground.

.....Because air pressure and the vehicle's weight comes into play...I am also running 315/75/16, but with the jeep's weight and having 32 psi on the tires the actual measurement came in at 33.75". Like what the others stated my speedo is within +/-1mph w/the GPS...
Was wondering what tune everyone is running out there and their reasoning behind it. I have had mine for maybe a month now and was running the 87 performance tune for about 4 tanks of gas. Today I filled up with 92 octane and switched to the towing tune after hearing some people say they get the most performance regarding torque (which makes sense) and mpg increase. I did not really notice too much of a mpg increase running the 87 octane tune. I have run maybe 50 miles on the towing tune so far and the mpg display has been steadily increasing since switching.
Hope that continues.
I have an Airaid intake system and MBRP Off Road exhaust system that I installed while running the 87 octane setting. I was quite pleased with the performance and sound I got from this setup, but since switching to the tow setting I have been blown away by the improvement in sound! The total volume of the exhaust system increased and the tone became deeper and more aggressive sounding! I love it that much more now. Anyone running the MBRP exhaust or any other exhaust for that matter should try out the towing setting and check out the improvement first hand.
After running a few tanks on towing I might switch to a 93 octane gas and setting and see if that has any benefits over towing. Really pleased with the performance mods I installed and tuning I am currently running!

I've also run the 87 tune for about a month and noticed little to no mpg gain...better get up and go, yes, but mileage no. Maybe I'll try some different settings. Getting my lift and 35's in 2 weeks, so some adjusting will be in order.
I second that, to tell u the truth my 33X12.5 with 17s came out to working fine on the stick settings, exactly with the GPS.. it measurs abour 31.5 but if i put in 31.5 it dont work right... 30.5 worked for me on the speedo.
but i am going to drive this tanke W/o the superchips and see how i like it, I can already tell i miss the shifting points.
Hmm, figured I would get more responses with so many people running Superchips...maybe this discussion has been played out too many times, but I haven't really seen anything on it. Just tryin to figure out what tune/setting everyone is running and which one they are seeing the most benefit from.
