Superchips Flashpaq for JK, Initial Impressions
just wondering if there's any interest out there for the pedal sensitivity option to have the potential to be used without a tuning (in only stock mode). I know that some guys (including myself) are getting turned off by the pinging, however, there are still some nice features on the flashpaq and I would like to keep it.
It would seem that if this "stock tune pedal response" option was available, then there would be no need to switch to something like the Sprintbooster, which I am considering doing. Also, if this tune is available, then those of us who are concerned about warranty issues can sleep a bit more soundly at night knowing that all we have "altered" is the pedal response.
It just seems that if "tunability" is the paramount goal of Superchips, then offering the pedal response for the stock tune would offer guys more options and save some people from the "pinging" headache.
So, what do you think...is there an interest for such an option?

Bought a flashpaq, updated and installed the 87 octane program. My MPG's on the hwy at 65mph dropped from 24MPG to 18MPG. WOW. I did have a little more power but not much. So... I installed the millage xs program. Drove to work this morning and I am getting 23MPG -1 from stock and there is no power change from stock to millage xs so I don't get it. I though this was supposed to increase MPG's by a few not drop them in the saver modes? Anyone have this happen to them?

Well I drive the same 60 mile stretch of hwy every day at that is the only thing I changed. When I took the 87 tune off my MPG's shot back up. I am getting 35's next week what tune should I use then to help with the power decrease?
looked at my post again and i think i gave the impression that i was doubting you. just meant that i am surprised at that and am wondering if there was something else impacting it. there are so many variables that i don't get too caught up in the mpg thing with these. i'm just shocked that the flashpaq would cause a 25% decrease... hasn't been my experience and i haven't noticed others with the same issue. i use the 87 tune (2dr 6-speed and 35's) and while i'm not going to claim any meaningful increase, it certainly hasn't caused a decrease like you experienced. kind of sratching my head on your situation if that's the only thing you've changed.
I think that something obvious is being overlooked on the SuperChip ...even on their site the tunes are made for the octane requirement of your engine and I thought the JK required 87? Not sure changing to a higher octane would help since the engine does not require it? Someone here will have a good idea though!
