Has anyone made note of any changes with the tow tune?
OK.......NOW explain your avatar...??? (but that guy looks familiar)

Has anyone tried the 91 or 93 tune on 87 octane? Since the Jeep has knowck sensors, it wont hurt it. What are the results?

Default vehicle specs

hi all,

just a quick q...when i plug my flashpaq in, does it automatically set the appropriate specs? for example, does it know from my vin# that i am driving a rubi with 4.10 gearing and 255x75 tires, or do I have to manually insert that info myself?

thanks,
mj

The Flashpaq knows how your vehicle parameters were set from the factory.

it knows all, first time takes a while because it learns all your settings and stores them to the flashpac so if you want to go back to the stock setting

I finally got my 35's installed and set the tire size, then my Jeep had the sway bar light flashing, even off/on didn't fix it.

So I re-flashed the 87 octane and it fixed it.

Not sure if setting the tire size tweaked the wrong item in the flash. Maybe the proper procedure it to set the tire size and re-flash all the time.

Not a big deal, but curious...

WE HAVE NO 93 IN CALI SO I AM USING 91 AND THE 93 TUNE. I SEEM TO BE GETTING BETTER mpg WITH THIS THAN WITH THE 87 OCTANE AND 87 TUNE. aNYONE GIVE ME DETAILS AS TO WHY THIS WORKS AND OR WHY I SHOULD/SHOULDNT RUN IT THIS WAY. i DO NOT UNDERSTAND SPARK ADVANCE AND ALL THAT?

I installed the SC for the first time Friday on the 93 octane setting and I'm impressed thus far particularly once the motor pulls past 3k rpms and my VTEC kicks in. All BS aside the 93 octane setting does make it come to life in the 3k to redline range.

I missed my first opportunity to dyno it but I would say this setting is an honest +15hp at the wheels.

The idiot gauge claims +1.5 mpg but SC tuners have a long history of screwing with these so until its hand calculated its too good to be true IMO.

I started with 89 on the 93 tune now I'm down to 87. No spark knocking no valves rattling.
