The 91/93 octane tune more than likely has the timing advanced far enough to require fuel that burns slower (less prone to pinging).

Well I guess I am going to call superchips tomorrow and talk to them. If they can't get it straight I will be returning it.

With my 35's MTRs if I drive easy on the freeway and stay under 75 I can get 20MPg!

Without superchip, the best I was getting was 17.

In no way did I see mine go down, and yes more power. For the cost it's the most power increase you can get for $300.

Plus I was able to correct my speedo, and has an awesome off-road tune.

Also don't use the build in MPG, and wait a few tanks to take out the variables.

I installed the millage xs program. Drove to work this morning and I am getting 23MPG -1 from stock and there is no power change from stock to millage xs so I don't get it. I though this was supposed to increase MPG's by a few not drop them in the saver modes? Anyone have this happen to them?
Hey, medic. Did you update the tire size IAW the instructions in the SC manual? I see you have 35x12.5's, but the actually mounted and installed diameter might be different. I know I have 315/70R17's which are theoretically 34.4", but measure 33.75 installed and mounted. Having a tire size that is too large might result in a false drop in your mpg. It's worth checking anyway.

As for my results, they are pending. I just got mine and have played with it a bit. My initial results look like an improvement in mpg from 14 to 16.5. I have been running advanced tunes with mileage xs and tweaking shift points as well. I need to be a little more systematic about my approach and try to run a single setting for a while and then gauge the outcome.

I will say that I am impressed by the driveability improvements though. I look forward to playing with the more performance-based tunes instead of the economy-based mileage xs tune.

I'll be back.

This thread has almost 200 pages so please forgive me if this has been covered... What i am wanting to know about is the add on ability to tune the auto trans on my 08 Sahara. I am specifically wondering about the ability to tune the shifting into and out of OD while driving at partial throttle. It seems like you have to bury the pedal at Hwy speeds to get it to downshift. Can you adjust this with the tuner?

Yeah you can get that done with the trans package and unfortunately there isn't a lot of good information on it here. If you take a look at some of the Dodge Ram Forums there is a lot better information on the package for Chrysler vehicles. Also, here's a decent video explaining what the end results are.

I have a 6 speed, so I really haven't kept up with it all that much on the JK, but definitely a great addition for the Ram crowd and certainly for the JKers that have taken advantage of it.

I'd be interested in being able to tweak the OD on my '09 Sahara as well. That switching in and out of OD is maddening with my 3.73 gears. I don't think re-gearing is in my near future since I have lifetime power train warranty. I sure wouldn't be disappointed if the Superchip ended up being my end-all-be-all solution.

Maybe I'll call them and inquire about the trans package. Hmmmmm?

I just bought a Superchip but can't get it to update on the computer. I have talked and emailed SC and talked to tech support and have tried all things. Turned of firewalls/Antivirus/wireless router.

Any ideas?
