Superchips Flashpaq for JK, Initial Impressions
2007 JKU 3.8 with 6 speed. Pretty noticable difference with the 91 octane performance tune. I haven't tried the tow tune yet. The throttle response is much better and it pulls harder in the mid rpms. Defanately worth it IMO. Now I'm wondering if I should add the sprint booster. According to most, it's well worth it too, even with the flashpaq.
Huge thread and I read through some, so I hope this hasn't been already asked. Has anyone been able to use this with a Mac computer? It's the only type of computer I have so I don't want to buy this and their program not work with my mac. Thanks in advance for the info!
I'm obviously kinda late chiming in here but I finally got mine plugged up and reprogrammed this past weekend. Initially I am not impressed. First tune I did was for 87 octane. Really no noticable difference excepr for crawl speed throttle pop. Maybe I almost preferred the stock's smoothed response better. Then I figured I'd tune to MPG maximize since I'm doing a bit of Interstate this coming weekend to 2 different rides. Another test drive felt pretty much the same as the first tune. Then I went in and adjusted for my 35s without actually putting a tape measure on the Goodyear Kevlar 35s. Apparently they are far from 35. I tried again inputing 34.25 and it's still off by 2 mph at 60 against a gps. Oh well, close enough for now. I might consider selling this thing in the near future if the other tunes don't excite me either.
ok, Got the flashpaq installed and have been playing with the add on advanced trans tuning. This alone is worth the whole price. I love being able to adjust all my shift points.
On the Torque Management... Is this adjustable or not? I have not found a setting for it. I thought that it was adjustable....

Try it for 2 tanks of 94 octane, on the 93 performance setting, and do a few 'on ramps' at WOT, as Jpop suggested. I guess it takes a couple tanks for it to fully fine tune the timing, etc. It seems pretty noticeable to me.
On the cost of premium, also keep in mind that most people get better mileage on the premium. I think Jpop said he gets about 2 MPG better, which would be about 10% (say 22 rather than 20 MPG). If you're getting 10% better mileage, and the fuel costs 10% more, then it's a wash, so you're getting more power (and 10% further range on your tank) for free.
Yeah, but you haven't really tried it yet.

Seems like setting the tire size properly would have a noticeable effect as well.
Just installed mine today. Registration and setup went exactly as outlined in the manual. Power feels like the old 31" tires were on it instead of the heavy 285/75/16 Guard Dogs. Much stronger shifts and better shift points as well. 87 octane tune on 87 octane fuel. Adjusted fan temps, enabled 4Hi lockers, and adjusted tire size. I'm impressed.
