I'm in South FL in gets HOT here, specially in the woods. It keeps the Temp lower that with the Stock 195*F thermostant w/ the Fan coming on at 200*F. I do feel a little better performance/power at lower Temp. Cooler engines last longer.

If you are in state where the ambient Temp gets cold during the winter you should change back to the 195*F during the winter.

Default First impression

Got my superchips today. I updated it as soon as i got it out the box, I am running windows XP as a secondary operating system on my Mac using VM ware fusion. After the first update, I got 2 different error codes so i decided to run the update again. Unplugged the device, reopened the program, replugged and went through the update again this time without errors. Went out to the jeep, the initial log of my stock settings went on smoothly. Once that was finished, I went ahead and input my tire measurements. I am running BFG KM2, they are only a week old therefore, there hasn't been a lot of wear. They measured at exactly 34" from the ground to the highest point on the thread. Once that was finished, I scape and saved the settings and went on to install the 87 tune. I do have to say that I was a lil bit disappointed with the quality of the device itself, in my opinion, it seems cheaply made. The buttons stick from time to time. When pressed, they stayed pressed and i had to sort of pull it back up. Went through all the prompts on the screen without any problems. I took my Jeep through a test drive and I have to say that its definitely more responsive. The lag trying to get up to speed is a lot better. The speedometer was pretty much dead on up to 50MPH, after that i noticed that anything above 50 was 2MPH faster on the speedometer than the GPS. As far as the gas mileage, I haven't been able to see improvement but I didn't drive far enough to tell. It did go from 13.9 to 14.2 in less than a 20 mile drive. Well that's all for now. I have a 2010 4 door auto with 35" tires, 17 in rims, 4" RC lift. I read through pretty much this whole thread before I purchased, I read about pinging and other issues...I am to this day trying to figure out what pinging is lol, but i guess I dont have to worry about that since nothing seemed abnormal.

The buttons will loosen up with dust and time. Drop down to 33.75 for the tires and the speedo should be nuts-on.

I will try that tomorrow and see how it works. Thanks for the advice.

Still no tune. My $300 Flashpaq is little more than a paper weight.

was gonna get one of these today at the 4x4 shop while getting my new 33's. the owner said not to even waste my money and that they dont do very much of anything. he said it's cheaper just to go to the dealer to get them to recalibrate the computer for larger tires as it's only 80$ to do it there opposed to 300$ for the superchip. he said they're pretty much useless on gas engineshe's the owner and I would assume he'd want to make a sale so I trusted he was being honest.

Gotta remember that you are paying for the software versus a super quality hardware setup!

I've had the programmer for a while now and other than the update interface being entirely a piece of **** program, I've not had any real issues with it. Well, I programmed the jeep back to stock to take it in for an oil change and whatever recalls were out. Anyway, I get it home tonight and go to reinstall the superchips and it won't allow me to do it. It lets me adjust tire size, but wont let me go into advanced setting, nor will it let me do a quick tune. It simply says the programmer does not have the calibration for this vehicle on file and to visit superchips.com for an update.

So, I attempt to update the programmer via the superchips update program, and after the usb port timing out about 15 times, it finally says this to me...

"The calibration for your vehicle is not currently supported. Information about your vehicle has been sent to our engineers for analysis and you will be notified via email when a calibration is available for your vehicle. You may unplug your programmer."

So, any idea as to wtf is going on? I literally used it yesterday with no problems.

i have the same problem me and the wife tried calling superchips during normal working hours two diffrent days thursday and friday at noon my time 3 their time and they say its not normal working hours.

if you brought your jeep in for a recall they reflashed your computer to have it run diffrent temp with the O2 sensor. i talked with my jeep dealership here and thats what it is. lucky you you still are able to change your tires size im stuck with the stock settings for tires and now programing so i dont know how fast im driving. as for the upgrade yeah same problem there to. it sits for hours loses connections and no update. superchips didint call me email me nothing just a big fuck you so far. when it worked it worked great but when it doesnt wow their customer service sucks!!!!!!!!!! they need to put boot to ass and get something going for these jeeps soon cuz i think all 2010 will get reprogramed for the recall.
