My question is, has anyone had any luck running the 91 tune with 89 octane? I've only found 2 stations here that carry 91 (and rarely on the road) and i don't think its worth the extra $$ for the 93 octane. I've thought about trying using 89 with octane booster but I don't really think thats the way to go.
Thanks
I do what others have recommended. I topped my tank off with 89 octane. Once I got to 1/2 tank I top it off with 93. Now I just swap every other tank. The 91 tune is a noticeable difference for me. And if you put gas in your jeep as often as I do it is not hard to remember what fuel I used last.

FYI. For those waiting for the SuperChips tuner for the 2011 models. The latest estimate is around the first of the year.

I might have to give that a try. I was actually thinking about that today after seeing a gas station install 2 new tanks. This particular station sells 87, 89 and 93 with only 2 tanks. If they can mix 93 and 87 for 89 I'm sure I can do equal amounts 89 and 93 to get 91.
Great minds think alike I guess.
Thanks

Default Update

Finally was able to get the general error code G-3F sorted out on my Flashpaq. Ended up being a software issue and took a few days to work through, but nonetheless is installed and working fine now.

I had just filled up with a tank of 87 so I installed the 87 octane quick tune. I can say so far with the limited driving I've done it seems to perform as others have said on this thread. No huge noticeable gains in power with the 87 tune, but definitely improved throttle response and crisper shifts (I have an auto). I'm planning on doing the 91 tune once I burn up this tank and give that a try.

I have to tip my hat to Jim @ Superchips (he's the rep/contact on the forum) and the rest of the Superchips team. Jim was very diligent in fast tracking the fix for my error code and kept me up to date and followed up numerous times with phone calls. So job well done!

Thanks Superchips and I look forward to giving the 91 tune a whirl and making some smokeballs! (one can dream...)

Hoorah! I can now communicate with the JK again.
Same story for me.

Tried 87 tune... Better than stock. Tried the MPG saver tune... Not impressed. Currently using 91 performance and am really impressed. I filled up with 93 octane last time to wash out whatever 87 octane was left and make sure I'd have no pinging issues. Next fill I'm switching to 93 performance tune. Ive noticed more power and response off the line and 6th gear is now usable on the hwy with cruise control engaged (hills everywhere).
