It's really the single reason that I bought it. Shame it cost an additional $40 over the already $300 unit. If you have an auto it's really a god send. I put 33's on and the tires I have are like 75# each not including the wheels. With the factory settings the jeep was in 3rd gear around 20 mph and with the heavy tires it made it damn near unbearably slow. With the trans tuning add-on my jeep will not shift out of first UNTIL 20mph no matter how soft you feather it. You can set the upshifts and downshifts for every gear however you like. On the downshifts you can control the speed or pedal percentage that will cause the downshift. This is especially good for the od to 3rd downshift when on the hwy.

The reason the Trans Tuning feature has a fee attached to it is because it required the engineers to do as much work as it does for us to create tuning files for your engine. We could have included it into all future products by default and just added the price to the total but not every user is going to take advantage of this option so we decided to make it an option you choose to purchase separately.

Happy Holidays everyone!

Tell them to spend a little time on the pc interface. You know it's pathetic.

While we are on the subject of Trans tuning. We released the VIVID PAQ for Jeep applications this week. I believe you guys are gonna love the way we have redone the Advanced Trans tuning app. It is much easier to use now that we can employ better graphics. Here are a couple screen shots:

The Shift Point adjustment feature offers the following features:

1) The main graph details each shift point line and how it performs by MPH vs. throttle position.
2) The two grey buttons in the upper left hand corner of the screen allow you to view and adjust your up and down Shift Points individually or together.
3) The color coded lines detail each shift table. By touching one of those lines you highlight that particular shift point on the main graph allowing it to be adjusted.
4) The Points tab allows you to view your adjustments by numeric value.
5) The Shift Groups tab switches you between street/strip (warm) and offroad/crawl (low) tuning.

Shift Point adjustments are made by identifying the color coded schedule that you would like to adjust from the column to the left. With your finger touch any one of the intersecting dots in the graph and drag the dot to the desired location.

The user can also adjust each shift point by numerical value in the Points tab.

Any questions let me know.

Transmission package is awesome on my Dodge Ram, but I have a manual JK. I can see great use for it on the JK autos especially 3.8L vehicles with oversize tires and being under geared.

So does it help with mileage and help prevent the need to down shift while going up a steep Hill?

Well, I don't have it on my manual JK, Superchips yes, trans package no. On my Hemi Ram, automatic with lots more power and 4.56s, it's set so when I want to move it kicks down and goes without a lot of slush. Up and down shifts are where I want them and I no longer need to wait for the engine to start lugging to kick down.

With my limited experience in an auto JK, You see the hill, you start lugging the motor, it decides to kick down, the slush drops your speed even further while unlocking the converter then finally kicks down. If you hit that kick down at the first smell of it, with a firmer shift that alone would feel like having a bigger hamster under the hood.

This has been a big topic for a while on the Dodge Ram forums and people love it, myself included. In my opinion, there is a far greater need for it with the 3.8L Wrangler and just a handful of people that use it. Lots of guys exchange trans settings on the Ram forums, and I haven't seen it done once here. It's a largely untapped resource out there and auto transmission JK owners here could clearly benefit from it.
