I think I read somewhere that there is a learning time for a chip to get optimum results. Will update.
Hmm. 91 tune was very noticeable on mine. And I could tell instantly

How noticeable? Big huge grin on your face noticeable?
Because I had none of that.
Granted, I went in gradually. Ran 87, then a week later, 91. Perhaps if I went from stock to 91, I'd be singing praises. For now...nothing to write home about.

I went from stock to 91, also calibrating the speedo for my 35's which corrected my shift points. So yes it was definitely noticeable and much improved

I'd like to hear JPop's opinion before I set up Facebook hate group

Default It's alive

So I was able to reach a superchips person this morning, and by the end of the day they had an update for my superchips. I just finished installing a tune. I picked the mileage XS. I am wondering (while be lazy and not searching) if someone has done the legwork of working through the different tunes and their advantages and disadvantages. The supplied manual is very sparse on details. I'll be stepping through some of them to see how they might benefit me, like the tow tune (although trying it with 87 instead of 91) and the crawl tune as a Daily driving tune.

So I guess everything works for now and I'll see if I become a believer.

I currently use a Procal to set basic functions on my JK. I have already isntalled 5.13s and I am running 35s. The gears helped some especially with towing. Is the majority of benefit from the Superchips obtained by correcting gear ratio/transmission shift points or is there a real benefit from the tunes, ie would it be worth forking out $330 for the tunes. Really would like opinions from people have used the Procal and then switched to the Superchips Flashpaq

Never found additional efficiency from the Mileage XS. Better power with the standard 87 tune and same mpg. Perhaps different on an automatic JK, but on the manual nothing from my perspective. Tow tune seems to be a favorite of people who want a little lower rpm grunt and 91 tune for cost/efficiency performance. 93 tune works well, but doesn't necessarily pay for the additional fuel costs over the 91. Only time I use the 93 is on long trips, a handful of extra miles per tank, can hold gear better on grades and definitely steps out a little better from standing starts. For me it's primarily 87 in the winter and 91 in the summer.

I found about the same thing on mine and I have an automatic trans - I've got mileage logs since new, put the tuner in about a year ago, ran the mileage XS and noticed no real change in the way it ran and no change in MPG over 10-12 tanks of fuel, switched to 87 performance tune and noticed a little quicker downshifting, but it annoyingly hunts between OD/D at 45mph on a nearly flat road (which is the speed limit on a long road here where the cops run speed traps constantly ) It's been 8 tanks of fuel with that tune and I think I'm going to try the tow tune next and see what that does for holding OD or D - hopefully that eliminates the 'hunting' - if not I think I'll go back to Mileage XS or try the 91 tune.

Sounds like you need either a re-gear, or keep the overdrive turned off. The advanced transmission tuning option would allow you to help your situation tremendously

That totally sounds like a good fit for the advanced trans tune. Doesn't need to be much of anything except adjusting the schedule near the speed of interest. Certainly lots more you could do with it, but taking care of the mph specific hunting would be real easy.

Additionally, a change to the tow tune may help as your power at a specific mph may require more or less throttle to hold speed.
