Got my Flashpaq from Bruised last night....thanks Dude!

Update went well from my PC, except for a password glitch....oh well....added about 5 mins to the process.

Copying the stock program was flawless. I chose the 87 octane advanced w/options (corrected tire size) and in said it loaded well. Went for a test drive and the butt dyno felt immediate improvement, but no speedo, no cruise, no odometer, no compass and no outside temp gauge.......weird.

Went home, reinstalled the tune, everything worked fine. Called Travis at Superchips this am (closed when all this happened last night) and he felt that there must have been a read error of some kind during the tune, but stated i handled it correctly. I plan to check the speedo against a GPS or a buddy pacing me to be sure its accurate, just to be sure.

All in all, fantastic purchase.....just wanted to document my odd speedo, etc., experience in case others have it as well.

same thing happened here. i don't remember the compass and temp, but speedo and odometer were registering zero. i reinstalled and it worked fine. also, i've changed tunes a number of times and never had the speedo issue again. it does take some fine tuning with the tire size though. even after measuring my tires it still wasn't coming out right. i needed to go a little bit higher than the actual tire measurement to get it correct.

glad you like it so far. keep us posted on your experiences with it.

I've heard a few people having issues with the speedo being accurate, even when they bust out the tape measure and actually measure it instead of just going off the rated size. If you are measuring the tire that is mounted with the Jeep sitting on it it will be squished a little on the bottom. This will of course affect ride height and even clearance under the Jeep, but doesn't affect the circumferance of the tire. It will still have to make the same number of revolutions per mile, so you may get better results measuring the spare when tuning the speedo.

I drove just over 200 interstate miles, hilly terrain (not mountains) with the AC on at speeds between 70-75 mph in 93 degree heat. I was running the 87 octane tune for the first time. I got 18.82 mpg, calculated manually.

Just curious. What functions actually work with this programmer out of the box. I WILL NOT buy any programmer that I have to connect to the internet to download or upload information. After reading information on another JK chat board and here looks like this has so many functions that are advertised that do not work when bought. Still waiting to get a response back from the company about this after several weeks with no info.

For the underlined reason alone I would suggest that you stay away from the Superchips. If you are not willing to update the programmer than it would fall behind quite quickly if the dealership would happen to update your stock PCM.

I purchased a flashpac for my JK. I'm holding off on my review until I make it thru a couple of tanks of gas. So far very impressive on 87 econo tune.

Anyways, if you are unwilling to go purchase any tuner that you have to upgrade/update via the internet, then there is nothing out there for you. Ok, sure you can use it out of the box, but from the update you get TPMS control, as well as any new fixes for bugs that they have found. If you are worried about doing the update yourself, call Superchips directly, maybe they can send you one that already has the lastest updates in it.

Like I said, so far, happy with the Flashpac, and if things go well, I will replace my Tahoe's Hypertech with one.
