I picked mine up from 4 wheel parts in Coppell TX yesterday. They knew I was coming for it and had the updates already installed when I arrived. So I installed the 91 octane performance setting in the parking lot before I drove home. The install was straight forward, without any problems. I had to use 33" to get my speedo correct. (I have 35" tires with 4.88 gears)
My jeep is pretty heavy....
I'm not sure that I noticed a ton of difference....... It might seem a little peppier, I guess I need to give it chance. I've only driven it about a 1/4 tank.
My jeep has 4000 miles on it. I installed my suspension, axles, tires, bumpers etc....... around 3500 miles ago. I keep a log of my fuel economy and I have averaged around 13-13.5 mpg . I will consider it a success if I see a little improvement with fuel economy. I got 19-20 stock and will be happy with 15 or 16.
It seems that the flashpaq has been very successful for a lot of JKs. I hope that I can say the same with my setup!

It is...........mine is pretty much the same.

I called the dealer to see how accurate the speedos are from the factory....yes, I am that anal. Not that dealers know the correct answer in every case, but this one is pretty good and mod friendly. Anyway, he said that the speedos are calibrated to withing 3 mph of accuracy. I got mine to under 1 mph at 70 mph.

After I thought about that for a minute, that is a 6 mph variance...52 to 58 would be +/- 3 mph of 55....that seems like a big window....and may explain some of the mpg differences folks see from rig to rig (I'm talking stock rigs here, not moded ones).

Anyway, no real point here except it was an interesting piece of info to me....I prefer my speedo dialed in!

So before i left work i tried to update one more time. it downloaded another file (gas 307) then updated again it said "programmer is up to date"

IT works

Started the jeep with the basic 87 tune

1. a great improvement sounds a lot better (more throaty)
2. better acceleration.

I am happy gonna go play with more settings over the weekend.

Hey Lee, I think you should be able to obtain most of your gains through the first tankful. By the second tankful, you probably won't notice much, but I've been able to log some minor additional mileage improvements. Also glad to see someone else is anal enough to log all their mileage, when something changes, it's always time to start digging.

Because of the weight of your rig, I think the tow setting might work best for you. As for mileage, the more octane I have ran with the higher octane setting the better my mileage has been. On my truck or my Jeep I always do better mileage wise using the higher octane settings than their Mileage XS setting. Using the Mileage XS setting does post better mileage than the same octane performance setting, although fuel mileage has never been my primary concern.

Keep us posted as I'm more than a bit curious as to where you end up on a rig that's much heavier than mine.

After going through pretty much the same thing Artipics did, I finally got it to upload!! Very frustrating to get the thing fresh outta the box and find out it doesn't work, call cust serv, still doesn't despite what they say etc etc. I must say that the customer service rep I spoke with this morning, Rich, was waaaayyy better than the first two who did not seem to care one way or the other. Rich was great. Still seems odd that they do Beta testing on the public, but whatever.
Anyway, noticed a difference right off the bat, I must say. I've a 6 speed, and it is much better torque wise and pulls harder through the range. I have it on the 91 tune. Worth the $310 through Northridge 4WD? Yeah, I think so. Its not a BMW M by any stretch, but then its not supposed to be.

Default Finaly Received my Flashpaq Update

Previous Post:
Well finaly was able to order and receive my Superchips Flashpaq Programer for my 07 Wrangler X. The first the manual recommended, was to perform an internet update of the software, which I did sucessfully. I then went to my Wrangler, pluged the Flashpaq in under the driver's side dash. I followed the instructions, which allowed the Flashpaq to download a backup of the current OEM program from the Wrangler. After that the Flashpaq was ready for programing. When the Flashpaq booted up, it stated that there was no current program available for my vehicle and it recommended an internet update. I then attempted to reprogram other items such as my spedo. I needed to program the spedo for the 35" tires I recently installed. The spedo programing went well, and the calibration was dead on when verified by my GPS. I then performed another internet update, which included the Flashpaq and the computer software sending my OEM program from the Wrangler to Superchips for them to create a program file for my vehicle. I then called Superchips and was informed that a Tech Support ticket had been automaticaly generated for my issue and that the engineers would have a program file for my vehicle within three to four business days. If what I was told holds true, Superchips Tech Support will get an A+ rating from me. That is where this issue stands. I will update this thread after receiving my file from Superchips and I have loaded it into my Wrangler.

Well I finaly received my update for my Flashpaq yesterday. The Flashpaq update went smooth as well as the programing of the vehicle. I loaded the 87 Octane profile for starters, along with changing the fan temps. I only drove it home (about 10 mins.), but it feels like it has more power on acceleration and the engine sounds deeper. I will update later after a full test. So far excellent.
