yep, i have a 6-speed and after i flashed it with the Superchips in Moab, i noticed a really nice improvement in power and the idle is a bit choppy when crawling. I like the gain in driveability and am very happy with it.

Just recieved the superchip from David. And all I can say is wow wow wow great noticable improvement straightaway which i never felt on hypertec unit.

ONE thing though I have tried the quick tuner options with 93 octane and hear engine pinging on accelartion especillay on first and second gear then less pinging into other gears

Switch back to the 87 tune. Pinging is bad news!

Are you running a full tank of 93 octane? Even if you had 1/4 tank of 87 and then topped off with 93 then you have something more like 90 octane.

Also when you fill up with 93 if you were running 87 before it will probably take 10 or 15 miles of driving to burn off the pure 87 sitting in the fuel lines.

Actually over here down under we have Shell V Power 98 Octane and thats what I have been using ever since new.

I am not sure if the 93 Octane in US is equivalent to 98 Octane over here. But definately pinging is noticable after the tuner installed.

Ah! That's probably 98 RON where as in the US we use the RON & MON ( or (R+M)/2)) method.

MON is supposedly a much better indicator of resistance to pre-ignition and detonation than RON in the real world. I don't think there is an easy conversion between two.

Supposedly 98 RON should be close to 93 (R+M)/2 though. Maybe try a different brand or see if you can find some 100 RON.

Default Ordered mine ....

Ordered mine a few hours ago from David, super nice guy!!! Even though he won't have any until friday, he assured me that he would get one out to me before I leave for Colorado on the 22nd. Really want to get it tuned and ready to go, hate to feel that auto kicking down every time the wind gusts. Can't imagine 600 miles uphill with it running in 3rd gear most of the way. $330 shipped from Northridge4x4. Thanks David!

Default Update update update

Used first the time with 93 Octane Quick Tune and wola very very noticable power way to go but the engine started pinging (I am running 98 Octane Shell V Power)

Second attempt tried the 87 Octane with advance features to correct the Tire size and Axle ratios not very noticable improvement also killed my speedo so went quickly back to stock the speedo was still not working just 1 Km away from the dealer the jeep stalled at the traffic light quickly restarted it and wola everything was working. But still took it to dealer bec i was on stock settings anyway they hooked up the computer and saw every kind of DTC or erros on the computer reflashed it and all good

Third attempt I tried the 91 Octane very good noticable power speedo working all good.

Also added the Octane booster just in case,

just wondering, some people seem to have issues with pinging, speedometer not working, and stalling, but most people just blow all this stuff off like nothing.

to buy this product and see gains will I have to run 93 octane? with said 93 octane, will pinging occur?

are there numbers for the different configurations of performance? such as 87 octane see's this much gain, 90 = this, 93= this (probably the figures advertised).

it sounds like a great product, but one of the things I loved about my old 4.0 was that if I could have found an 83 octane it'd have probably run off it, and don't look forward to paying for 93 octane fuel, expecially when mileage isn't fantastic anyways and if the price of fuel goe up i'll pretty much go bankrupt on fuel cost alone. what say you?
