i'm sure they were and i can easily notice a difference between stock and the 91 tune. just saying the difference i've experienced between 87 and 91 would never lead me to conclude that there isn't much power to the 87 tune and the 91 tune is the money tune.

18hp and 24ftlbs of torque at the wheels on the 91 perf tune.
Well, I can tell you that Ron is dead wrong on this one. Ron Rapp has helped me a great deal on different matters over time and has placed me in contact with the lead engineer for all Chrysler products on a few occasions. By far the tune that the lead engineer was proudest of was the 87 tune. That's not to say you can't make more power moving up in octane ratings and tunes. The 87 tune is not only a dramatic improvement over stock but provided results that "surprised" the lead engineer.

The difference being the stock tune from the factory and the 87 Octane tune from SC which utilizes the same octane as the factory.

Default towing tune

Just drove a through a tank full using the Towing Tune with 87 octane.

285miles
14.53 mpg
good power and great shift points on the auto with 3.73 gearing.
35 MTZ tires.
mostly city driving.

Now running a tank of 91 with the 91 tune. lets you all know in about a week for the results. Only bad thing is its almost 30cents per gallon at the pumps so unless i gain a solid mile per gallon more I'm going back to the 87 tune.

So far Ive tried all the performance tunes minus the crawling mode and have not seen anything that realy is out of this world.

nicest thing about the SC in my opinion stronger shift points and being able to recalabrate the speedo. well worth the money spent.

Re-geared last January'ish '08. 2 wkends ago had 2 ring gear bolts back out of the rear diff (brainiacs at Jeepers Den in Orlando didn't use Red loctite) - blew a hole in cover (replaced with Ruff Stuff Specialties beast) - anyway, figured what the heck - I'm over the crappy stock 4.88 performance running around the mountainous area here just south of Tellico Plains - so what the heck go 5.38's, screw all those generic rpm/gear/tire size charts - the one posted here by a member is much closer to my real life experiences. Get some pep back and have some fun

Quick question tomorrow morning I need to recalibrate my speedo for my new tires. Do I need to have my doors on to go through the process ? I have the power and when i tuned the Jeep last time I had them on. Just not sure, and weather is great down here so I really don't feel like lugging them on to do it!

hi

just a quick question

how can i tune the SC to the most powerful performance it can give ?

Is it just by choosing the 93 octane or by playing with the advanced option ?
