When I had these tires, I had to set them to 32.25 and it was pretty close then

Default Northridge

Hey all,

I just got my flashpaq from Dave at Northridge and here's how it went.
I tried to install it without updating it at first, which did not work out at all. After I hooked the flashpaq up to the Jeep's computer, the process did not work itself all of the way through and the flashpaq was stuck on a blank screen. After I updated/registered it on-line (took about 1/2 hr), i tried it again with success.

I downloaded the 87 tune and took a drive into NYC afterwards. A few initial impressions about the 87 tune (btw, I have a manual 6-speed with K&N high flow filter, throttle spacer, e3's, granatelli wires).

1. There is definitely a noticeable increase in the "pep" factor with the tune. Acceleration is better, especially at lower rpm's, however, it is not like it is a huge difference...just a slight and noticeable one.

2. Fuel economy also improved. Whereas I would get around 20 highway mpg's at 55 mph (as of recently), I got as much as 22-23 mpg's at 55 when I was trying to carefully drive it on the highway.

overall, a nice product.

hope this helps.

Fill up with 91 and then load the 91 tune and be ready to say OMG! With the 91 tune a can't believe tht all we did was tune the computer. It's really has made it "fun" to drive! I like the 91 tune so much I am afraid to try another tune.

Hey guys, it's worth it to try the 93 tune.

Originally I was not impressed at all with the 93 tune, it didn't seem to give anything over the 91 tune but a little roughness and every now and then a low rpm stumble. It may have had perceptably more power, but wasn't worth it.

I ran the 91 tune or a while, on everything from 89 to 93 octane fuel and loved it. Then one of the regulars here messaged me to try the 93 tune again, it had been improved.

It's amazing what this 93 tune does for the low end power, it actually makes the 4.10 gears totally liveable with the 6-speed and 35" tires. And power delivery is very smooth through the gears. I'm still going to upgrade to the 5.13 gears in the near future, might have to get a radar detector too!

I guess that's an indication that it's time to do an update again, although I'm not real inclined to burn anything other than 87 octane in the winter months. Just takes too long to get up to operating temperatures or even just warmed up enough to roll out.

Has anyone made note of any changes with the tow tune?

That's amazing! You actually drive 55 on the highway!

The 91 is fun to drive. But I'm usually keeping up with traffic, which means 70 to 80 mph. Of course my mileage goes down, but wow, does it roll nice.

Here's my question: Has anyone (JPop?) tried 4 wheeling with the 91 tune still in? I'm just wondering if it is in anyway unsafe. I have used the crawl tune, which is great offroad, but horrible on the freeway. I am wondering if it is true the other way around. And if it is ALWAYS necessary to tune back down to at least 87 when going offroad.

Heck, I always forget about the crawl tune and roll offroad on the 93 tune all the time. Gotta put that Flashpaq in the glove box (I've even got a Molle pouch for it- what was that molle accessory mount - MPAC?).
It would be nothing to install the crawl tune while I'm airing down the Hutchinson/Toyos.
