Superchips Flashpaq for JK, Initial Impressions
I just came back from a roadtrip in mine and I paid very close attention to the mileage as I'd never really monitored in that closely. I was curious as to what it got on a road trip and with varying speeds. I found out that it is capable of decent mileage if you keep it 70 or under, I was getting 20+ mpg on country roads doing 65-70 mph. I got 19 mpg on the interstate with averaging ~75 mph with the top on and the a/c on. However, on the way home, I was ready to get home and did 85-90 mph the whole way and I got 16 mph.
'08 Rubicon Unlimited 6 speed (stock tire size CAI, Superchips Flashpaq and 93 octane tune). Just turned over 10k miles on the way home. ~1600 mile road trip.
Oh, and this was my first roadtrip with the Superchips and it definitely has a lot more power on the hwy. It held 80 mph in 6th gear on some pretty long, fairly steep grades. On flat ground it actually had halfway decent acceleration in 6th gear.

I find the transmission shifting points are finally bearable. Most importantly I was able to reset the fan. The stock setting on mine was low fan on at 215 and high at 223. No wonder it was running so damn hot. The only weird thing is I've had the engine light come on twice with the trouble code being low and high cooling portal off. The fan was running so I figure it was a computer glitch. Cleared the codes on rolled on. If it keeps up I'll have to contact Superchips about them. Other than that this Flashpaq has made me happy to be driving my overweight JK again.

I should have responded to the thermostat thing before but I guess I missed it.
Fan on settings need to be at least 20 degrees warmer than the installed thermostat. The stock thermostat is a 195, so you shouldn't be setting the fan on temperature lower than 215.
I did the exact same thing as I had the stock 195 in and set it for the 180 I had waiting to install. Dropped the fan on setting to 200 and was getting a CEL and a DTC of "Open Fan Relay". Swapped in the 180 and haven't had the issue since.
I hope that helps.
