What to do, What to do
Be aware that the AR platform is another money pit. Good quality scopes and other stuff can easily cost as much as Jeep upgrades.
I took a break on my guns and now am prioritizing the Jeep.
If you do not have any guns at all I'd go with a good quality AR for a nice "foundation". I recommend an AR10 for the "real thing".
In the end it's all about your priorities. ;-)

I actually meant one or the other, not both unfortunately. I don't think going to the 4.56 is going to be enough. I've already got 4.10, might as well make a big jump if I'm going to do it.
If your thinking that, I second an AK.. I love the AR, and its super accurate, but when dirty its not reliable.. at that gun show I was at, I traded a sig p6 for a Hungarian AMD-65 AK47. First time out last week, it fell off my jeep and landed in a soft dirt pile, I picked it up and fired it just like that and not a single jam.. driving on dirt roads, you could strap it to that back of your seat, and its good to go.. plus ammo is waaaay cheaper.. I was happily surprised, since this is my first AK.. just my .02
ps. I traded my bushmaster x15 for a HK USP 9mm, and I love the pistol but do miss my rifle pretty bad haha
