This is what they use on ships that I was talking about, Rotating windshield wiper

Windshield Wiper Systems, if you can imagine in they probably already have it for all size & shapes of windows.

What you could do to seal the inside would be to fabricate a dash cover using 1/8" smoked black plexiglass. Build a cardboard template first to get all the angles, shapes etc. All of the Plexiglass pieces would be put together a commercial version of SuperGlue. You could build all the pieces in a manner that allows for a drop in place unit with a few tabs under it with reverse Velcro on matched points on the factory dash. This system would have a 1/4" tapered fit against the inside of the bottom windshield whereby you will have to seal with a fine bead of silicone like a fishtank, but this would keep the water from reaching your electronics. This plexi-dash system would have side channels that allowed the water to collect and strategic locations and would lead off to the driver and passenger sides onto the ground preventing damage to your radio or front dash electronics/controls/etc.

If one was to take their time building a system like this it could actually work. Of course a commercial version would be a molded to fit factory dash unit with all the rain guards and channels built in.

I dont think anyone is critizing you. I think what people are trying to say is...sure you could make a windshield wiper work on the inside...but it would be a massive pain in the arse. How important is this to you.....if you really really really want one, then be prepared to spend a decent ammount of time on it. It still funny though....

So far as it being mechanically and physically impossible... if everyone thought like you we'd probably still be living in caves, hunting with sticks instead of rifles, and not even have our Jeeps.... Not to mention we'd not be able to make smilies in our posts!
Well if you can figure it out.....make sure you dont add the washer sprayers on the inside too....

I would think that the reverse curvature of the windshield would make it difficult for the wiper to lay against it properly.

I have seen systems where it is fitted to the top bar and therefore hanging down. There is a knob on the top which is hand-turned (no motor) and you twist it when you need it. (My old military days.)

To your point, it is backspray hitting the inside of the windshield so you don't need it wiping continuously. Again though you will have the spray from the inside wiper to contend with.

Good luck.

I don't know as it is the best idea to have interior wipers. But, I appreciate your creativity. You may be able to use something similar to the motor for the rear windshield wiper. A plexiglass dash cover may be your best option to protect the electronics.

Definitely NOT impossible. Good luck to you.

I think a manual wiper would work, although there wouldn't be much difference between that and a skweegee. I think any small wiper motor would work. You may even be able to use old wiper arms from a TJ or YJ as their windshields were smaller than the JK. The circular wiper would be interesting to see finished. From my experience, most of your spray will come from behind at those speeds on wet roads...a windjammer would help a little, but it wouldn't go along with your top/doors off kind of driving. The only other alternative I could think of (and I am not sure how much it would help) is to use just one of the Freedom Top panels over the driver. That you could keep with you and put up in just a couple of minutes, I would think.

Don't take the criticism too hard...at least your jeep isn't chromed out. Those guys take some real abuse.

-gag- definately not chromed!! lol

I don't think the curve of the windshield would be too much of a problem.. The thing is pretty vertical and pretty flat.. I can tell by the amount of bugs that smash square into it instead of glancing off..

So far as putting a wiper squirter and pump on the inside too... This could be a very good idea.. I'll just have to rig it with a long enough hose that it can be aimed at pedestrians..
