Highway probably IS a little faster, but give me a break about gas... the difference is truly negligible. Suit yourself though - I see how it is.

I don't hit Rt 8 - it's all backroads, and at one point (as you get close to Tolland town hall) becomes dirt roads.

From a couple PMs, it sounds like Chopper is going to meet me near my place for the ride up. I'm thinking it would make the most sense (based on the route we're going to take) to meet at Farmington High School at 9:45, and then drive up from there. You in?

Damn!!! I'm really bummed out that I missed going wheelin' with you folks this weekend.

Because I didn't tell anybody what I was planning, I had some
unexpected plans made for me by my Mom, which really caught me off guard.
She needed me to drive her to a few places, and there was just no getting out of it.

Live and learn I guess.

It rained a bit down here. (The gloomy weather echoed my feelings)
Although I did meet a pretty good looking woman that was either just
being friendly to me....or, she really likes me...I've got her phone # ....Time will tell.

I hope you guys had a great time.
How was the weather up there?
Did it rain there too and make things a bit more fun for you????
I hope so.

Hey Chopper. Sorry that you had to miss the wheeling trip - it was a blast, and everyone was really cool. Maybe it was for the best that you didn't come, though, if you met a woman instead... you know, "fate" and all that? As you said, time will tell. I'll be posting some more pictures of the trip for you to cry over , and I hope that we'll be able to meet up with you around T-giving!

Nice pictures. I'm still bummed out about not going with y'all, but not so badly now since the Sat. after Thanksgiving is coming up quickly.

Theres quite a few water crossings on that trail there....what about inclines?
Are there also decent hills as well? I thought I saw a picture where it looks like a
rocky incline.

There are some decent inclines - mainly just a couple of hills, but depending on how much of a challenge you're looking for, you can always pick a harder line. In most places on the hills, there are more than one side you can go up (two trails running parallel - one a little harder than the other).

Look forward to seeing you there after Tgiving!
