Hi folks - I'm excited to be meeting you tomorrow! Just got back from funeral in Jersey (traffic SUCKS), and am glad to see that at least a few are planning on attending. Feel free to bring kids along (as long as they're old enough that they don't whine and cry). Just like we're not the "Women Haters" club, I also don't think we're the "Family Haters" club.

As far as where at Hooters to meet, I say parking lot as long as you're on time. If you arrive later than 2:10, then go in and ask to be seated with the "JK Forum" group (we'll tell the hostess that some other people may come in to join us). For the sake of being prepared, how many seats are we probably going to need? Me and my wife, Chopper & nephew, JK Sahara 2007 and 2 kids... that's 7 right there. Is DrinkingMyMilk going to be able to come? Anyone I missed that's planning to show? Let's get a headcount together ASAP.

See you guys/gals tomorrow!

Default Hooters meet

(I actually started writing this earlier in the day, but I had to put it down for a while)
Well, Here I am, back at home
after dropping my nephew off at his job. He's a pretty quiet dude , but he's a good kid.

Let me say....I'm sorry for showing up late to the Hooters meet (And here it was I who set the time)
I swear that everyone else's world revolves about 15 - 25 min. faster (Depending on the wind of course) than the one I happen to live in.

It was nice to finally get a chance to meet you ladies and gents and put faces on the names. Now that I know you, or at least have met you in person,
I'm tempted to use your real names here instead of the forum names, because the forum names seem so impersonal now,
but I guess I will stick with the way it has been just because of the way the internet can be ...(unless you folks don't care) .

At Hooters I kept calin'l y'all by your forum names I couldn't help it.

It's kind of weird....This whole experience is a total first for me (meeting up with people off the internet). I was excited and nervoius at the same time.
JK Sahara, you picked up on it, but after you asked me about it, it seemed to sort of melt away.

I'm a little bummed out though because you left while we were sorting out the bill....... milk and I didn't get a chance to check out your ride.

I guess we'll have to check it out when we all go trail riding in a couple of weeks I'm told it's really nice.

Oh....yeah.... I forgot ...since I arrived late, I'm not allowed to use the forum for a while...Everyone please disregard this post

Hey everyone.

It was great to get a chance to meet you folks at Hooters.

JK Sahara - it was fun talking Jeeps with you before everyone else arrived, and it was cool to meet your daughters. From what I could see, you're a "cool" Mom.

Chopper - you're a good guy and don't worry about being late. Feel free to call me Mike - I don't have to have total anonymity on here!

DrinkingMyMilk - I'm glad that you were able to make it. We didn't talk all that much, but you seem like a good guy.

I'm looking forward to our future trail-run with DMM, whenever that happens. I'll also offer to lead a trail run, up in Canton, provided any of you are interested and available for a night-time "stealth" run...

Clubber, TwinTurbo, et al., we'll have to drag you folks to a meet-up sometime too, so keep that in the back of your mind...

Again, good lunch with you who showed at Hooters - I'm glad to have met you all!

JK Sahara - Nice to meet you even though I didn't get to check those seat covers, I wish I did that night I put my back seat in for some one to ride there and first thing they did was spill a coke. That seat is never going back.

Chopper - Nice meeting you face to face finally. Now black out that thing! I was thinking couldn't you just powder coat the chrome light rings? prolly be cheaper.

MJS - I am down for a canton night run! Just give me a heads up on a day and time. This weekend is a no though. Have to move the girlfriend back to college. Girls picking the next meeting place is fine with me.

When we were leaving Amy (my girlfriend) said, "wow, I thought the wave was a little strange, but you guys are like a cult. I had no idea what I was getting into."

Thumbs up Tolland MA run - I'm in - are you?

So, there's a thread about a Labor Day run up in Tolland MA (about an hour drive for me), and the wife and I are going... not sure how many people they can accomodate, etc., but I believe it's an open invite for anyone in MA, NY, and CT... anyone else wanna join up? The post can be found HERE.

DMM - If you can't make it, I'll just have to catch up with you when we do the Canton night run... which, by the way, is a LITTLE rough (I would expect to test your skid plates a couple times, if you know what I mean). For the record, that's where my exhaust pipe was first dented up so bad...

Chopper - Thanks again for bending out my exhaust - the Jeep is actuall running a bit better now, believe it or not! I hope you can join us for the night run or at Tolland, but I know you work a tough schedule.

Has anyone noticed that, since the meet, JK Sahara isn't on the forum anymore? I think she saw our mugs and got scared away!

I was thinking the same thing....I hope everything is all right on her end.
She seemed really cool...I hope we didn't frighten her away somehow.
Hey MJS...What was her reaction when she saw your rig all covered with mud? kinda like?
My guess is she's busy getting the girls ready for school.

shes hiding the bling

On a different note: I found and tried some "Sweet Baby Rays"
All I can say is ....YUMMMMMMMMMM! Man...that stuff is tasty.

I picked up the original to start with. Have y'all tried any of the other flavers?
If so which do you like best?

Chopper - Thanks again for bending out my exhaust - the Jeep is actuall running a bit better now, believe it or not!
Oh I believe it...You had it crimped down pretty well. The hole was about 1/2 of it's normal size
Your very welcome ...If we were here at my place, and I had a little more time I could
have fixed it to the point that you wouldn't even know that it was ever bent.
But I'm sure going that far would be pointless because your only gonna crush it again....arn't ya?????
