no, the most you should need is re-gearing if you don't have the 4:10s.

thats what i have to check then, because i dont know exactly if i have that. i bought the jeep cause i love jeeps. ive never gone in the trails before so thats why i dont know to much about the motor and the different parts. i would assume that my paperwork says it, correct? i plan on either 33 or 35's.

what year is your jeep?

do you have the tow package?

do you plan on a lift? or just rims and tires?

if it came with the factory Tow package you might of got the 4.10 gears as part of the upgrade. Your dealership can tell you. Also on the casing I beilieve I read it is stamped with type of Dana casing. 44 on back and 30 on front is typical. SO for example.

I have the JK Unlimited X 4dr and I got the tow package in dec of 06. Well at the time they put the 4.10 gears and it's on my sticker from Jeep as 4.10 upgrade. Now if yours is newer they might of only done 3.73 gears so it depends on the manufacture date. If you want you can enter in the jeep.com site the last 4 digits to get the options from the factory that came on the jeep.

the first window on the left let's you find vehicle specs.

What are your plans for the jeep though? I run 33"s with no lift and 4:1o gears and love it. I have never had a rubbing problem up at tolland or behind Middlesex. IMO we don't have enough rocks to out here to warrnet the extra cost of a lift. With 33's you will be fine driving around town or in the woods and it doesn't come with the 2 mpg sacrifice. But I do agree a 2 " BB and 33"s looks really good.

wow, you can change your own oil? pulling that little plug and letting it drain, yeah...rocket science.
please don't cry Eddie, I am just playing with you! talk to me when you know how to install a blower for my heater? cuz i sure don't feel like driving back to Branford tomorrow! but at least I will be warm!
i am just teasing you...put the kleenex away!
