Keep it comming please, I love it when a professional straightens everyone out and makes things easy to understand.

1)No one said stock jeeps are better than built ones, but the driver upgrade can take you a lot further with less mods.

2) sway bars on the rear of a JK do make a difference, but for what I use my jeep for (black diamond trails) I don't need it. If you do any towing I probably wouldn't remove it.

3) your post proved your third comment pretty damn well.

Call it annoying if you want, I'm calling it like I see it. I haven't wheeled with the way of life guys, but from the post on this forum they have made; we would see eye to eye on a lot of things. I laugh at the jack ass who can't fix his own rig so I'd lend a helping hand. People buy useless stupid ass crap up here and worship it like its freaking god. Some tool bought a home alignment kit for his jeep. From the factory the only adjustment you can make the alignment is the toe. Was bragging about how cool it was and what all he could do with it. And then the band wagon showed up and holy crap.

In all seriousness tho, yeah, there are quite a few people with too much money and see these big jeeps and just think we're like a bunch of ricers who mod their vehicles for no purpose. Little do they know what we actually do to these things So they go buy a $45,000 rubicon, get lift and tires and the poor thing never sees the dirt. It is what it is. Yeah it pisses me off a little on the inside when i know someone buys a rubicon with no intention of ever wheeling it. Haha like WTF did you buy a $35,000 jeep?!?

But out of the people i know tho, more of them wheel their JK's than don't... So guess maybe it is just a California thing
I like those people too because it creates a pool of nice Jeeps on used cars lots that I can afford.

Sounds like you need a beer and a vacation from the forum man LOL. BTW going back to your original post I know 4 guys, who like you, run no rear sway and most of them out drive me on the blacktop. Im sure there are plenty of myths that get perpetuated on the forums. Some people on here are strait up full of it. Anyways no reason to get your panties in a bunch, its the internet man, it aint real. As far as searching, as has been said the forum one sucks, I usually end up Googling the forum for info.

I guess there are a lot of posers out there. I dont really care. The more the market is flooded with Jeeps the more Jeep parts available to me down the line.

I don’t take my Jeep out as much as I wish I could, but like it was mentioned in another post, life gets in the way. I work a lot just like everyone else here and getting my Jeep to look the way I want it to look is a treat for me. I’m not a brand fan boy, but if I like it, I’ll buy it. Nothing beats sitting in traffic with the biggest smile out of all your fellow piss off commuters. This is the 1st vehicle in 10 years that I bought just for myself without considering any other family needs or wants, that’s what the other family vehicles are for, and guess which one the family loves the most?, The Darn Jeep. Sometimes I don’t like how other Jeeps are built or not built, but I don’t let that get under my skin, too each their own. I have a winch that I have only used twice now in the last year, both times helping another Jeepers out. I knew I was not going to use it (mostly for looks at first, glad I have it now), but I am more than willing to use my “gear” to help others. Bottom line is, if you see my jeep you’re probably going to think I am poser and I don’t need all the upgrades (check my profile), since it’s always kept clean but I’m always willing to help out on the trail with my fancy gear. I also do the Jeep wave. I know you don’t like acronyms but here is one. YOLO!!! Enjoy

Agree, I build MY Jeep to MY liking. It's a good day when I drive it (El Toro) yes it has a name. Hahaha

Man, I hate to see folks stressing out so much about this stuff. You can't change people, you'll always find people you won't agree with, who have different opinions, even different "facts." If it makes you angry to occasionally bump into these folks, all you can change is yourself. Or don't change a thing but don't expect others to change either.

I don't have one bitch about the Jeep community that makes me lose sleep or would prompt me to vent about it on a forum. If it helps you, though, more power to you. What I do is this: I jump in my Jeep, which is built different than yours, and that you might not appreciate, and I have a helluva time in it. Sometimes on my own, but more often with some of the most enjoyable folks to be around I've ever had the pleasure to meet. I hope every one of you do the same, and derive as much joy from doing whatever you choose to do in the Jeep you chose to build (or leave stock).

Yep, that sums it up for me. Enjoy your Jeep and your friends. Bill.

1. Cool, I'll hire a driver so I can have the driver upgrade. Then I can get really cool pics that way. Great idea, thanks!

2. Wow, something that makes sense from ya. I'll have to tell my poser friends to use the search feature when they need that info. (And the black diamond comment really impressed me, just thought you should know it was not wasted space.)

3. You can do better than that. Pretty weak really, not impressed there. Try again please.

Straight forward, to the point, kind, informative and yet forgiving. Sounds like the Folks I meet out on the trail and enjoy their company for a day or a weekend.

Kudo's Bill

Looking forward to more time out on the trails with great folks like yourself and no doubt even folks with stock JK's that keep up with mine on 37's(D44's F&R). They will have just as much fun as I do simply with a bit more grinding on the rocks than I do. In my case I derive joy from making a tough trail look easy due to 37's , lockers and such Zero flaming here just good times on the trail stock or not with beautiful scenery all around
