Received mine a couple days ago, other commitments kept me from the Jeep.

Headlights arrived in great, double box packaging. Foam covers over the lenses themselves.

Initial feel is solid, high quality lighting. Paint/powder coating is smooth, the housings look sealed properly, and the connectors don't have that brittle feel.

Also, color pictures in the instructions!

Deciding factor for my purchase is in the last picture (I hope, sorry if the order is jacked up this is the first time I've posted pics), DOT compliant which some other brands are not.

Have to head into work, will install tomorrow.

Well, that went far too smoothly.

All the instructions were spot on. I cheated and just popped the tabs off and pulled the grill forward.

Wire lengths were all satisfactory, as I tucked the driver side red DRL under the grill lip for a clean install.

I only hooked up the DRL, the turn signals would be very easy since you can reach under the grill corner, twist them out, splice the kits yellow turn signal wire, and twist back in.

Start to finish, took me just over an hour.

Only issue I have is that when seated in the notches, my driver side bulb is rotated counterclockwise about 5 degrees. Nothing major but it sparks my OCD.

You can see light color differences between stock and Ignite on the wall behind my bike. Will take night shots this evening.

Looks great!

About the bulb rotation, do you think it's the entire headlight that is rotated or just the outer lens with the DOT stamping? It's tough to tell from the pics, but I can see that the DOT stamping does look like it's slightly rotated counter clockwise. The DOT stamp is usually at the top, but the position does vary slightly per headlight.

Sweet. Looking forward to seeing some road pictures. Also, is that the FZ-07 or 09? I used to road race a R6 at tracks throughout the Southeast. Regardless, sweet bike dude.

Looking forward to your review and comparison vs the trucklites. I have narrowed my search down to these two lights.

Quick Write Up on the Trail-Flame 7" LED Headlamps with DRL:

I installed the lights yesterday on my 2012 JKU with no major issues. Overall, very pleased with the instructions and quality.

Total Time: 2-2.5 hrs +/- (depending on if DRL is completed same time)

Install w/ Comments:

1. Marked off current lights:
I started off first, marking off my lights on the garage wall with painters tape to compare the height and alignment after completion. Not sure if this is helpful, but did allow me to recognize if the lights needed adjustment afterwards.

2. Remove Grill

Disconnected the front parking lights by turning about 1/2 an inch as instructed. The instructions call for a screw driver to remove the tabs on the grill. My 2012 JK tabs only required a tab removal tool or a small flathead screwdriver:

3. Remove Headlights

NOTE: I used removal as an opportunity to PAINT the chrome light bracket BLACK. Sanded it down and sprayed one quick coat of a textured black I used on my rails.

4. Plug n Play Headlight Adapter

NOTE: So, I did run in to a very minor issue at this point. The plug that connects to the OEM headlight didn't snap in place properly. After close inspection in the adapters on the tab were not cut properly and required a minor trip with a razor knife. This really was the only issue that I ran into. Once I figured it out it fit perfectly. Curious if this happens to anyone else:

5. DRL Wire to Fuse box
This is an optional step if you want to wire up the directional lights.
I used fuse M37 as stated in the instructions. FYI - The location of the fuse is inside of the fuse box lid which was different than the pictures provided since I have a 2012. I then used a small hacksaw to notch the right side of the box to route the wire to light assembly.

NOTE: The instructions call for crimping the RED DRL wire to the supplied fuse adapter. I did that first and then realized that I had a lot of excess red wire once routed. Before crimping route the wire from the passenger light to fuse box, and then cut any excess off. Its an OCD thing for me.

Driver Side:

You will need to route the RED DRL wire from the Driver side to tap into the Passenger side. I tie wrapped the wire to the loom that travels across the grill area:

6. Wire up the Yellow DRL wire to blinker
This was pretty straight forward. Instructions were clear, on which wire to tap in to, as long as you stick to the outer WHITE wire. My Driver side was WHITE/GREY and the passenger side was WHITE/RED. Just DONT use the middle WHITE and you should be fine.

Using the blue crimp tap the wire up a few inches. I opted to pull the loom back and then tape the loom in place once completed:

7. Install Lights, Test, and Replace Grill:

I cleaned up the wiring with some loom I had laying around and mounted with my newly painted Headlight brackets:

I only ran them once yesterday at dusk, so I need to follow-up with overall impression after I have had them a few weeks. I cannot compare to any other headlights, as these will be my first LED set.

Looks good! Thanks for the great write up. I appreciate the input on the adapter fitment. I have not heard of any others having that issue thus far, but we'll keep track of it and see if it's something related to the factory connector on your specific year model or a slight defect in the adapter itself. Either way, valuable info we can use to make our product better!

Hi guys. I installed mine on Friday with big thanks to Dustin. I am not great at wiring and I got confused on the turning signal light part. When you receive these lights you will immediately notice the build quality. The entire basket rear of the lense looks and feels great. No crappy plastic materials to break or get warped in time. The front lense looks and feels like glass. The plug in cables fit nicely and the tuck behind the light. Put the rings on and it's done. As I said I only had trouble connecting at the turn signal lights. The wire you have to connect to is heavier then the supplied wire and I had trouble with the snap connectors. So I wound up soldering those two connections. Last night I got a chance to take some pictures using my phone. I hope these help. Lastly...the running lights and turn signals look great. I am super happy ...Thanks Dustin.

Here is a daytime shot of what the turn signal looks like when you are just running with low/high beams off...
