Poison Spyder Hood Louvers--Now for JK!
We use .063 aluminum. I was thinking that this is not a very practical DIY project. I did the math and assuming you have your own press and louver dies it was still hard to beat our mass produced price. Then I thought about the value of a father and son working together in the shop and decided that that is where the value is. Enjoy the process and let me know if there’s anything else you need.
Thanks,
Nice call garrett, I can't wait untill my kids are old enough to get involved more, instead of just handling/losing tools
i still enjoy every moment I have them in the garage with me tho

Just ordered the hood louver, I will be using a thermal infrared camera to document before and after temperatures. Im really excited seeing if this really works, hopefully see and feel hot air coming out of the vents. Had to pull the trigger on these as I have seen some of my electrical conduits with heat damage and some have completely crumbled off the wiring. Will give an update once I get some results in.
You can certainly see and feel the heat coming out. I'm curious as to the temp changes as well, but I'm confident it isn't negligible. You can tell the air coming from the inside vents (without using A/C) is cooler.
Not really hard but more nerve racking and time consuming than anything. Took me about 5 hours total due to being anal and really painting both sides of the hood completely where the louver would be.
