well i do recall that RR said it would work with thier mount and light bar. now if the light mount doesnt work then get the light bar and get like a 2inch or 1.5inch bracket for a light and put it on the light bar at the usual windshield location. if you follow what im saying. its what i planned on doing once i got my light bar anyways unless some one has already tried this and found an issue?

Hes said multiple times its being designed to work with their light tabs. Have faith! Personally I think the snork looks bad ass so far. Looks mean....

As far as the shorter design in the rain or snow being piled up infront of it I had an idea.
If the opening faced down, mounted more towards the side (as opposed to on top facing forward like a ram air hood scoop) it would prevent snow from blocking the opening.
Your "napkin drawing" showed the taller snorkel would put air through the side. If the shorter one utilized the same hole it would be possible. Even if it still faced forward but was more on the side than the hood.
Just a few ideas, not saying this is what I want. But if it works, I'm all for it.

How about an an attachable snorkel, low profile for daily like the side (as pictured), but removable (or connectable) and then extendable for actual off road use? Best of both world, short stack for efficiency, an option for length for play.

This is exactly what they are doing from what I have read. They want it to be modular for people to have the option of a tall stack and just the base with a ram for people who want relocation for CAI purposes only.

Have been reading this entire thread over the last few days and must say that I am thoroughly impressed with the design, and the fact that Rugged Ridge has been interested in everyone's input from the beginning. Maybe we'll be lucky enough to have some other accessory designers choose to do the same in the future!

The modular design will definitely be THE major feature of this snorkel. How can that be beat? Like a lot of the people on this thread, I too have been looking for just the right set-up. Had a close call last summer that made me start thinking about getting one, but no one had the right piece of the puzzle... until now. I don't need the whole snork most of the time, but when I do need it, I want it. This will be perfect.

Great job Rugged Ridge! We are waiting patiently... And thanks for letting those folks that know what they are talking about add their 2 cents for those of us that are still learning.

You are gonna have to relocate the battery with the design you are showing... I have dual batteries, so that won't work. Make sure it will work with a light bar. That is a huge problem. Otherwise, just make it solid and strong.

I'm pretty sure Rugged Ridge is designing this so it specifically WILL work with dual batteries. Take a look at some of their original posts on this thread regarding that very issue.
