Default 3.6 Pentastar opinion

Chrysler is buying my 2011 JKU RUbicon because after 3 months they have not been able to stop the water leak on the front passenger side and we discovered the front driver side is leaking bad also. I am glad it is not a boat or I would have sunk by now. This being said Chrysler is doing a collateral swap my 2011 JKU Rubi for a 2012 JKU Rubi. I will be going from the 3.8 to the 3.6 Penastar engine. I would like some feed back on the 3.6 Pentastar and whether going from the 3.8 to the 3.6 made a lot of difference in pulling power and overall performance. Also is the 3.6 a reliable engine? I would appreciate any opinion good or bad.

Also Louisiana has a great lemmon law.

Heck yeah you did. I've driven both. I have a 2012 sport and I wouldn't trade my pentastar for anything! CONGRATS!

You scored pretty big depending on the terms...everyone is going to be pm'ing you to ask how you made it leak!

Lucky guy. I'm going to try to make Chrysler do the same thing with my 11 JKU. It's had electrical gremlins since I bought it and I'm just about fed up with it. I've been out of the country for the past 5 months and this thing has been a PITA for my wife. They are going to get one chance when I get home in a few weeks to make it right or I'm getting a lawyer

As for the new engine, it's still not a Hemi but it has to be better than the minivan wonder in my Jeep. I haven't drove one yet but EVERYBODY (mags, YouTube and online reviewers, folks I've talked to, and most importantly JK-Forum members) seems to say it is far and away a better engine. I figure if it is then great. If it isn't I can still do the Hemi swap I had planned for the 11

I went from an '11 four door JK to a '12 two door JK. The extra 80 hp combined with 1000 lbs less weight made a significant difference in performance for me. Now my JK will actually get out of its own way.

Your going to really appreciate the 3.6 and auto 5 speed.
I don't have experience with the manual.

I am extremely pleased with my 3.6 and 5 spd auto. There is absolutely nothing to be disappointed about.
