Hush your mouth, we will not stand for this back talk. The 3.6 was blessed by the baby Jesus and has special healing properties! :-).

One could also argue that it's the Grand Cherokee or Charger engine. Just sayin'...

The pentastar is a platform engine. Chrysler will equip many of their vehicles with it.

So far I know its in the Charger, Challenger, 200, 300, JK, Cherokee, all mini-vans, avenger and some others. I think Lancia is going to use it in a few vehicles, as is FIAT. It has good potential, I guess we will see what they do with it. Probably turbo, and direct injection similar to the ecoboost motors.

I really can't complain about the motor yet as I've only had it for 600 miles or so. My 2011 had 8k on the ticker, and I really couldn't complain about that save for the lack of power at highway speeds. I would like to get off the paved path more often, but I work too much.

Default test drive

I just test drove a new 2012 6 speed two door and I was not impressed. I have an 08 rubi, this was a sahara. I took it for a drive and put it through it's paces and found I like mine much better. This Jeep only had 76km on it so maybe the engine has to be broken in.

I wouldn't trade mine on a new one.

I love mine, drove a 2011 with 3.8 and couldn't bring myself to trade my TJ on it but when I tested the 3.6 it was night and day difference in my opinion.

Awesome! I drove 2008 and have a 2012.... new engine is great!

I have 5000 miles on it and haven't had an issue. I drive about 100 miles a day.

Actually, you're right. Mine's a '12 JKUR manual tranny. Shifting was a frustrating experience, until 1,450 miles. Sensitive, grabby clutch; shifting wasn't smooth. I only noticed the extra power in the higher gears 4-6. However, I was alway so disappointed with my 3.8 automatic, no get-up and go. I need to know that the power is there when I need it. With the 3.6 it's there and after break-in it shifts like butter.
