Dealer fixed my soft top leak....
Here is a pic of the washer....it is a 3/8 hole and fits quite snug over the bolt, it is 3/32 thick. If you take the door surrounds off you will see they are in a "C" shape that goes around the rollbar. The washers are between the top of the roll bar and the top of the "C"....it is a tight fit.

Just a nylon washer....
I think what it is doing is securing the door surround. Without the washer the surround rotates just a bit, with the washer it is solid. That could also explain why I had the leak sometimes and sometimes I did not. It all depended on where the surround was rotated....I'm just guessing here....but still no leaks
.....maybe the dealer finaly got one right.

unscrew door surrounds and place it between the surround and the roll bar.... thats what was done to mine
That's exactly where mine is too; on occasion, though very rarely, I noticed a few drops on the rear door handles too.
Thanks for the info guys!
Gonna try that and see how it goes; 'course now that the sun's been out for a few days, may not see much rain here.

ok. i know the surrounds and knobs. can this be done with the top on? or do you have to remove it, fold it back? do you have to take the roll bar padding off? sadly , guess i need a step by step.
