Sweet! If mine is installed there, maybe I can still install my tuffy hood lock :-)

After a cooler installation, it may be handy to know the proper fluid level at various temps in the transmission sump.

For those who have a transmission sump temperature gauge, (AeroForce, or a sender in the pan), the following information is taken from the factory service manual:

Mine is definitely overfilled then. Not sure how much that matters but I don't think it's anything to worry about. Better then not enough.

Normally it's not a problem. It's when it overheats or foams, that the level shoots up and comes out the vent or the dip stick tube.
We know what that can lead to...

AirJordan613 - Thanks for posting the pics!

ronjenx - thanks for the dip stock info. I have an AeroForce too. I didn’t know that had the different temps in the FSM. How are your temps looking now? Also, speaking of cooling what is the “normal” max temperature you should see?

My temps seem a little lower than before the cooler. It's hard to say with any real certainty because the ambient temperatures are still in the 30's to 50's (°F). I won't know how effective the cooler is until this summer.

Regarding the "normal" max temperature, I'm not too worried until the fluid rises above 180°F to 190°F. That's when I do what it takes to bring the temp back down.
Now that I have installed the cooler, I'm hoping it never gets that high.

Thanks, I thought 180-190 was the max you wanted to hit.

I'll be interested in hearing how yours does this summer when you're out wheeling it.
