New 2010 JK Transmission RECALL and im F&*ed

I have a 2010 Rubicon with the 6 speed. My transmission blew after a hydrolock. Waiting on a motor and transmission. Just my luck with 500
miles on the car and a 7 inch puddle. Starting to regret my purchase. Why did they change the tranny for 2010? Did they change anything else?

It does happen I have a Oct built 2010 and have had it pop out of 4th a couple times but seams I hadn't fully ingaged it as I was on the phone...I know...lol
When I bought my stang in april 05 I drove it home and I had no 5th gear it went in to the shop for 2 weeks as they waited on parts..dealer knew I couldn't say much as I work for Ford in the parts depot..and for some things that aren't a stocked iteam it can take awhile to get in... my tranny was german made as well..all I can say is when they did rebuild it...it has been good for the last 5 yrs and I run 550 hp so all is well..hopefully it all works out but keep on them ..No matter what they say the dealership make more money on warr. stuff then anything else so don't accept til it's right!

Currently there are no recalls for 2010 Wranglers listed on the NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation website. Are you certain this is a recall? To be honest, popping out of gear does not sound like something that the manufacturers would easily give recall status to. It sounds more like a TSB, which is handled much differently and much more quietly (the cynic in me says this is so every Wrangler owner doesn't hear about it and come on in for the free work). I've also not read anything on any major news source website about a Jeep Wrangler recall, and normally these do receive coverage (especially in light of Toyota's recent problems--media yelling "RECALL" sells newspapers and magazines, and brings in viewers).
Anyway, sorry about your problems, but it would be much more helpful if we understood what the recall or TSB is: It will have a number that everyone can use to reference it. For example, the 2007 Jeep Wrangler Auto Tranny Recall is 09V436000. The TSB on the torque converter shudder was 21-002-07 Rev B. By being specific, you will provide much more useful information to others on this board who are concerned about their own JKs/purchases (for example, by having the TSB number, those concerned will be able to read the TSB and see that it's been implemented on all new JKs manufactured since February 11, 2010, or such. That is fictitious, for example only, of course).
Anyway, sorry about your problems, but it would be much more helpful if we understood what the recall or TSB is: It will have a number that everyone can use to reference it. Hi from Western Australia, just to add, i was due to pick my 2010 Rubicon 2 door manual on monday, but guess what, gearbox is DOA, waiting for replacement, apparently 1 in 6 boxed are buggered from the factory the dealer told me.

THEY just stopped sending transmissions to the us..
because of these problems and being stuck in customs... i know what i seen..
there is a recall... IT will become a number soon
