it used to be people would say this is why i dont buy american...

i will say... My 02 wrx and 05 legacy (subaru) had zero issues and 80ishk on each when i traded them in and i modded the hell out of them and drove them like i stole it....

i can guarantee you this... when it comes time to replace the jeep, its not going to be with another jeep. i have had way too many issues. and although i do like having a jeep its not worth the many issues i have had with my 07 auto... and the ongoing steering clunk... until then, i will probably continue to mod it to my liking oh well

Wow, 11 pages on this thread, apologies if I missed it during a quick scan, but what the hell changed from '09 to '10 that is causing manuals to go haywire? I mean, did something substantial change by way of transmission design? And if older manuals are just fine, why the change for 2010 in the first place?

ya it took me like 20 or so to read the whole thing, looks like either a shift boot causing it to pop out, or bad syncro's and the solution is replacing 2 gears and syncros is from what i gathered... sounds like chrysler needs to go out of business so another company can buy jeep, because lets face it chrysler can go under and jeep will be bought by another company, i would like it to be made by honda or subaru, a H-6 with a turbo under the hood would be pretty cool.

I had an '05 Outback XT and I hated it, no mods - I went though tires twice and it was in the shop 4 times in two years for major work (Engine rod, blown turbo, oil pump and transmission work). Piss on Subaru. I traded it in with 29k miles. Would rather push my Jeep.

dude... lemon law the Jeep... *AND* push chrysler to let you ORDER the new one... it will need to be the same exact options and all or they will make you pay...

best thing I ever did was Lemon my 2008 for electrical issues.. because 14 months later my 09 is FLAWLESS!.. everything works, works right, and it drives all different... (has NEVER popped out pf any gear ever at 17,000 miles) im told by my service manager (who's son works in toledo assembly) that when a vehicle is marked as a customer replacement it goes through QA several times if needbe and is checked overby management personally before it is released....

also in most cases lemon law has provisions for any after market parts that were installed... in my case I had put in U-connect, and had the seats scotchguarded, as well as a UV finish protectant put on the exterior... that was all re-applied to the jeep free of charge before I got it back....

it is probably a real good thing you havent put on your kick ass wheels and tires yet because service would surely try and make that the reason for the failures... so keep that close to the chest....

now I will say to lemon a vehicle you have to have PATIENCE and be PROFESSIONAL.. and not go spouting off at anyone or they will get on the defensive and will not want to work with you... just let it run its course.....

I filed my lemon case in october of 08 and got my new Jeep in march 09 ... throughout that process the dealer still honors all warranty repairs on the current jeep and needs to make them as provided by the warranty.... they dont mark your jeep in the service computer system... however you DONT go telling the service people you are lemon-law'ing the Jeep.... you keep QUIET about it except to you and your lawyer....

Sorry to hear about these event that have taken place. I hope you get it fixed no car/truck is perfect but you would expect a new car/truck to stay together for a couple years too much bull crap with dealers. Stay jeepafied and, I hope everything works out for you being young sucks even with dealing with auto zone/shucks they think you don't know what the hell you bring in. I think its bull crap oh well just my two cents on the matter good luck!
