Jeep FC-150 Makes Us Love Classic Pickups Even More

Vintage FC-150 pickup likely to become a highly coveted collectible in the future.

We suspect that with all the anticipation for the forthcoming Jeep pickup, models like this 1962 Jeep FC- 150 will become even more coveted.

Why? Well, typically, a newer take on an “old-school” idea makes a lot of people yearn for some of the more classic models. And when it comes to open-bed Jeeps, they definitely don’t get much more vintage than this one.

This classic Jeep is just a flat-out beauty-meets-beast sort of ride. Powered by a 2.2-liter (134-ci) Hurricane I-4 engine, the white and red ’62 FC (or Forward Control as it’s officially called) is quite the looker — even if you aren’t necessarily a big fan of pickups. Of course, the basic design of the FC’s cab-over drivetrain layout is a key point of its allure.

There’s also the truck’s short wheelbase that made it a great go-to work vehicle back in the day, due to its maneuverability skills on and off the road while hauling a load.

The model pictured, which is currently up for sale on Bring a Trailer, appears to be in pretty good shape, given its age. In fact, it recently received a new paint job. And according to the seller, the FC’s vinyl seat covers have also been refurbished.

Mechanically, the carburetor has been totally rebuilt, and it also has a new timing cover gasket. Though, the seller does note that there is a small, dime-size leak from the transmission and transfer case, which certainly wouldn’t deter us from picking up this hot collectible.

That is, if we could come up with $11,000 before bidding on the FC ends and this classic gets away.
