Can stop in Castle Rock and go in via Dakan Road...plenty to explore.

Rampart range gets pretty busy with all the bikes though, doesn't it? I really like the forest of pitkin, summit counties. Rampart is more front range and pretty sparse. I looked at shrine road, ptarmigan and lime creek as options...anyone been up these?

Default FR4x4

There are a lot of trails around which are close and not too hard. Yankee Hill, Barbour Forks, Devils Canyon are all near Idaho Springs. Lefthand Canyon is pretty tame up outside of Boulder. Sevenmile and Old Flowers Rd are in the Poudre Canyon and are easy.

Check out Frontrange4x4.com. I go wheeling with these guys all the time. The 28th we have a stockers w/o lockers run. I'll be doing Tincup and Mt Antero over labor day weekend. Its a bit further but they are easy trails out by Buena Vista. China Wall is now much easier... There is a trail cleanup run at Barbour Forks and Devils Canyon in September as those are two trails FR4x4 adopted.
