2013 CB Mount
I just downsized my cb to a 4.5" width. Could I see how you routed your wires thru? I think I will copy your idea. Looks real clean. I'm planning on threading the coax inside the passenger rollbar and extending my wires up the passenger pillar.
I don't have the auto-dimming mirror (mine is a 2012) but I used the Strike Force Zebra mount. My Uniden 520 fits very well but there is maybe a half inch of space between the top of the mirror and the CB. I could go wider and maybe a little deeper (with an elbow connector) but I can't get a much thicker CB. That is too bad since I may have eventually wanted one with a few more features.
I used the SFZ on my 2012 to mount my Uniden 520 and it works great. It's well worth the $20. With my larger spare and AEV fuel caddy, the back window and rear view mirror are almost useless. This small cb doesn't block the mirror at all, a bigger one might, but in my case that wouldn't matter.
I just wired mine directly to the battery and ran the wire thru the passenger mouse hole. You can pull the vertical pillar back enough by hand to tuck in your wire. Then the whole center section above the mirror snaps in and out of place.
I didn't pay attention to the depth of the radio in relation to the windshield so I.would recommend going a bit nor forward as the other guy did. I drilled my holes center of the vertical curve but you should move that forward an inch or so. The center section over the mirror has plenty of room to tuck your wires in.
I copied the location and its a perfect spot. I also happened to go with the Uniden pro 520XL then upgraded my mic to an Astatic power noise canceling designed by Road Devil.

Same on mine. I do however Highly recommend that if someone wants to run their coax thru the roll bar padding that they remove their top. I left my HT on but for the time it took I could have removed and installed the HT without the headache. I love the above mirror location. Feels natural to me.
i have a 2012 with the freedom top handle at the footman loop and I can reach it OK. I have the smaller Uniden. It looks like a little larger CB would fit on mine, don't know about a larger mirror on the 2013. you do have to watch if you mount it to the footman loop because the handle snugs up to the bottom of the loop and your mount can't interfere with that. sounds like you don't have the cb yet, when you get it try it up there and see.

One thing I found that I just put on my Mopar sunbonnet last week and it's strap goes through the footman loop also. I was barely able to get the strap through the footman loop with my cb mount in place - just barely. The other things people have done with the hardware from the hardware store leave the footman loop more open for things like that.
I installed mine today. I got the idea from here. (I've seen so many though I can't remember who to credit. Sorry & THANK YOU!)
It's two 3/8" insulated wire loops, two 1" corner brackets, machine screws with lock nuts. I drive 4 miles a day on a rough dirt road. It's very solid and I'm really happy with it for the few $$$ I spent.
I still have to run wire to the battery and am waiting on my 25' antenna wire to arrive. More pics to follow.

I am going to pull the brackets and hit them with a rattle can of flat black. This was a shot of my test fit.
