Me too! Just finished it a few minutes ago. I decided not to drill into the metal behind the glovebox. I just used zip ties, it's really sturdy...it's not going anywhere!

Hope it makes you feel better to know that there are others just like you. Myself included.

Default Very clean looking install.

First the antenna, a 36" Firestick mounted to the spare tire carrier (purchased the mount from a local CB shop that sells through Quadratec). The antenna cable is routed through the same rubber grommet used by the brake light wires.

The CB box is installed under the glove box on the metal bracket and quick disconnect on the panel beneath the glove box. (This is wired directly to the battery)

Cooltech VersaMount with cb mic bracket riveted in ...

Finally, the mic mounted on the CoolTech VersaMount:

That's it...it sounds great and the antenna tuned real well...off to the trails !!!
I was wondering about the mounting plate for the mic (CB) cord that's mounted under the glove box, was that something that came with the Cobra 75 or did you purchase that separately? Was it a difficult process to mount? Also, for the mic mount, how did you get the plate between the console?

JEEP = "Just Empty Every Pocket". I only learned this acronym....AFTER I bought my JK. I can't see that there will every be an end to the upgrade possibilities.

I mounted my cobra 75 to my tuffy overhead console. Took the basic concept from WOL midland write up and modified to wire base of cobra in the tuffy.

Thumbs up Thanks for the idea!

I've been pondering how I was going to install a CB ever since I bought by JK over 1.5 years ago. I've just been using a handheld, which SUCKS. I've got all of the appropriate pieces on their way and plan to do the install identically to the OP, unless I eyeball something I like better just prior to breaking out the drill.

Hopefully I'll have everything in my hands to do this by the weekend.

Thanks!!

Excellent job...I have the same radio still-in-the-box I bought for a 2004 Jeep and never installed it...three Jeeps later and its still in the box. I need to install it.
