I have got the chance to buy one of these used in great condition for $75 which includes the wiring, cables, and 4' whip antennae. Think that's a good deal?

No, that's a smokin deal if it's all in good order...

I just paid about $200 for the Cobra 75, four foot Wilson tunable antenna, wire etc...

Thanks Guys. I'm subscribed. Might have some questions although it's been pretty well covered here.

I went and picked up the Cobra 75. I'm a noob with a CB so be gentle.

It was only 5 months old and in working order. It came with the connecting box (power supply?), cb unit 4' whip antennae but didn't have a cox or antennae mount. I plan on making the antennae mount that's no problem. My question is what coax should I buy (I'll need about 10') and should I buy a kit with connectors? What connector for the antennae mount is good and should I buy a quick disconnect?

Any help will be appreciated.

Would this work? hXXp://radioworld.ca/amateur-accessories-mounts-cable-kits-cr-5m-p-933.html

Whether or not you need/want a QD is tough to answer. Lots of variables like theft risk, clearance where you park, whether you will use it frequently or not and where you mount it.

I skipped the QD because I want to leave it on all the time and don't want to worry about it getting ripped off..

As far as the coax.. most vendors sell the 18 foot coax with the ends on already. That will give you enough to go from under the dash to anywhere on the rear of the Jeep with some left over. It's the easy option.

You need to check the mate on the antenna or mount.. for instance, some Firestik mounts work best with the FireStik coax with the FireRing..

I used this mount..

It required a specific coax cable end.

What you linked to looks like an extension..

Something like this is probably the most popular along with the FireRing cable.

Not sure if I answered your question..

I'll try and take a couple pictures of what I got and post up later. Thanks for the input.
