Expedition Modded Jeeps - Let's see 'em!!
Like any prepared expeditioner, I would assume some research is in order to make sure no laws are broken in regards to a personal weapon, fender coverage, mudflaps, proper fuel storage, etc. but you better believe if Im leaving the safety of my home Im going to bring some protection!
Just depends on what kind of permit that you have to carry, like a Utah which is good for a lot of states. Something that people who carry should always check when going from state to another. And then how you Carry that weapon on you or in your vehicle.
those maxtracks do look ilke they would be of very good use. i carry around 2 2x6's, but they're heavy and don't exactly provide the best traction. however, they would provide a good jack base if need be.
as for carrying. if you must, generally a shotgun w/ an 18" barrel, plug to limit capacity to 2+1 rounds, and stored in a secured area away from ammo should be about 50 state legal, Washington DC being the obvious no-go unless you're literally just passing through. but don't take my word for it, check the law.

Doing an upgrade to the jeep in the next few weeks inclusive of lift, bumpers and a few other goodies. But, I can't decide on which type of front bumper. Most likely it will be an LOD shorty, but I can't decide on the stinger or the over winch hoop. I've always liked the stinger look, but how practical is it on an expedition rig? Has a stinger ever gotten in your way on tight turns, etc?
Is the overhoop more useful for extra lights? (I've got HIDs at the roofline now so not really an essential need).
Whichever way I go, pics will get added here in a few weeks once all the parts show up and get installed.
