Did a little "luxury" camping at a resort the last few days, so the rig isn't loaded for expedition. Got up over a couple of 11k passes and had our first new snow of the year. 'tis a beautiful fall in Colorado.

What camera/app did you use to take those wide angle photos? Also where in colorado were those taken? I'm in Denver and always looking for some fun trails.

It is just the iPhone 5 camera using the "panorama" setting. Not the greatest pictures, but it is nice to have the camera always in my pocket.

We were in the Shrine Pass area in the Sawatch range. Shrine pass takes you from Red Cliff, just off of 24 over to the top of Vail pass. Here is a map link:

https://maps.google.com/maps?q=Red+C...+Colorado&z=13

Shrine Pass is a very easy drive, but there are more difficult trails in the area if that is what you are after.

It scored pretty high on my "go where there aren't people" scale. We only saw two other vehicles. The scenery is terrific.

12/12/12 Edit: It has come to my attention that the land shown in these pictures and videos has been auctioned off and is now all privately held. Out of respect to the property owners, I discourage everyone from venturing into this area. I am told that the landowners will be putting up various blockades, so it would likely be pointless to attempt a trip anyway.

Went back to Kinta/Sans Bois Mountains in Oklahoma (east of Robber's Cave State Park) this past weekend. Here are a few short videos that will later be partially incorporated into a more complete video of the trip. Much better weather than last time, but still a very challenging trip.

I started with a cargo master kongo cage (got off craigslist for $200 about 3 or 4 years ago), put new bars that run the length of the rack at a wider position, added support in between them, added metal mesh, , added the edge piece for the top of the rack, and added the ladder, that was custom made to match the lines of the rack and jeep. So basically everything except the "U" parts in the front and rear of the rack, it is custom. But obviously it was helpful having the rack in the right dimensions to start with. We added the new bars, then cut out the old bars. I also took the opportunity to get the old paint off and put some Rustoleum Bed liner in a rattle can on it (6 cans). Hopefully it will hold up. I'll try to get better pics.

Some still images from this past weekend. Near Kinta, OK in the Sans Bois Mountains (east of Robber's Cave State Park) ...

We'd get nearly to the top of that mountain in front of us (hiked the rest of the way) ...

Yes, there was a little bit of winching ...
