Next is making all the electrical connections (Winch/ARB dual compressor/Main/Auxillary fused links).
The fuse holders in the second picture are (from left to right). 1. ARB Dual Compressor, 2. Main supply, 3. Blue Sea systems Automatic Charging Relay, 4. Auxillary supply.
The high current fuse for the Winch can be seen in fourth picture.
I'll post more pictures with the final result (hopefully the Jeep will start after this major surgery ).
Awesome job! How's it working? I've been thinking about converting mine to a dual battery setup also and yours look very good.

Both the ace and the smittybilts are the same height as the OEM sahara (mine is a sahara too) but are wider, making entry even easier.

Here are mine...you can't see the width on the photo, but they are probably 2" wider than the OEM steps.

Thanks!

I will be working on completing all the wiring this long weekend.. I will let you guys know how it turns out.
I am curious to see how well the Blue Sea Automatic Charging Relay works out.. It does have many advantages over the Cole Hersee relay. (Higher continues current = 500A and it does not use power in either switched state.. where the Cole Hersee does use some power when in the connected state, since it's an actual relay).

Looking at your profile it looks like you have a pre-2012, so you will have many off-the-shelf dual battery trays to pick from.. So you would only have to source all the electrical parts (assuming you want to do it yourself).

Don't get me wrong, it was fun to make my own tray. But it does put your Jeep out of commission as you are fabricating. Since my Jeep is not my DD, it was not really a problem for me.

Sorry, I missed a few days on the thread and missed your question. There was a lot of welding. I ordered about all of the stuff from McMaster-Carr. It was a little time consuming but it works great.

Ditto on Offroad Elements. I have them on mine, but fabricated a short bracket so that I could install them to the MRBP overhead rack extension instead of the supplied brackets mounted into the windshield frame. Contacted Eric at Offroad Elements and asked if they could make a custom length so I could remove my bracket, and he said no problem and will get back with me on price. Superb product--every component is top-notch in quality.

Default Gobi Ladder Question

I have a gobi ladder question. I have been searching for a good shot of how the ladder attaches to the rack at the bottom. It seems like it would flex enough to touch the body over the tail light. I was hoping someone could show me a picture of how this works or discribe it to me. I'm sure it doesn't scratch the paint but I want to see how they do it.

Thanks.
