I'm thinking that the kids might want to sleep in the annex eventually, but when they are small the could fit in the same tent. Or should I get a bigger tent?
I have the Autana and love it. Build quality and customer support are great. With the annex installed, really an easy job by the way, I can put a queen inflatable bed below the ladder and sleep 4 adults comfortably. I leave my sleeping bags and pillows in the tent while it is closed on the top of the jeep.

Thanks for the reply. Planning to buy a tent with some tax refund money. Coming down to the Tepui tent mentioned and the Mt. Shasta by CVT tents. There are some deals going on with these tents this time of year, so probably best price between the two will get my money.

I've talked to both manufacturer's and they think they will be large enough for my needs. I am trying to save some room on the roof rack for other things....Maybe some foldable kayaks or other gear for having fun.

Make sure you call Tepui and ask if they have any "Scratch and Dent" tents. Sometimes the tents are damaged during shipment and returned. I bought mine with $400 savings and it took 15 minutes for me to find the slight dent. The ladder has made more and larger dents just in normal use. Most of the time it's only the cardboard box that was damaged. The Tupei guys took photos of three tents and emailed them to me before I decided.

Wow! Thanks for that tip.

Thanks. I had a feeling it would be too big.

I know it's larger than the trailers I've seen on here but I'm sure it will be under the max tow weight. Any suggestions or words of advice? I need to tap into the years of experience on here. Thanks!
To give you a comparision, an M416 box is 72" long and 40.5" wide at the frame. And the tongue is 31" long for a total length of 103".

These dimensions are the biggest I would go, personally my trailer box is only 48" (rather than 72") and it works great. Depending on your fab skills you could always modify the trailer to meet your needs.

Another solution is to get a trailer from Harbor Freight and build something up.

Teaser video from my recent trip to Big Bend Ranch State Park and Big Bend National Park. This was right as that last monster winter storm was bearing down on the central U.S., so while we expected mild weather, we would take a glancing blow from it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMQoU6PiW8Q I hope to have the final video done in the next couple weeks.

LOL. You better get it out. From Long Beach you have a lot closer access to way more places than I do here in Oklahoma.

Mark, can't wait to see the whole vid. I'm in florida and have no chance of any ride like that near me at all. That looks like one heck of a good time.
