Default invisible-hood-technology

Here is something the Wrangler needs
Land Rover to demonstrate 'invisible hood' technology in New York
Would almost eliminate the need for a spotter..

The same thing can be said for sleeping on cots, BTW (know some folks have mentioned using cots in their tents). Except with cots there's little practical possibility of even slightly warming up the mass of cold air that's swirling around your body. I suggest not using either, except for the very warmest of nighttime weather conditions. Get a decent ground sleeping pad--some are very large and thick. If you can't hack something small and lightweight, check out the REI camp bed.
Hi

Thanks for the info, Have not tried the Intex air bed, but is more for when a lady comes with me summer time

The other mats that I showed are great I think and maybe are not called air beds, maybe more sleeping pads. The red one Exped Mega Mat are on of the best and comfy mats out there according to people and is rathed to -54 F and has a R-Value: of 9.50

The small grey one is a Exped Downmat and is filled with down and has a R-value of 4.10. Its about 2 inches high.

I was looking at Thermarest NeoAir Dream Mattress that looks similar to the Exped Mega mat but has a lower R-value at 6.0.

Overland Journal did a mat review and Exped Megamat was best, the Editor,s Choice Overland Journal reviews Exped MegaMat 10 LXW

Sadly it is little to long to have in the Wrangler, it works but not perfectly.

Best regards

Omar

The Exped Megamat is similar to the Thermarest Mondoking XXL mattress I have.. It's also foam inside and have a R-value of 11.4. It comes in two sizes:
Open size: 77"x25"x4" - Packed size: 7" x 26" - 4lbs 11oz.
Open size: 80"x31"x4" - Packed size: 7" x 31" - 6lbs.
Therm-a-Rest MondoKing Sleeping Pad - Free Shipping at REI.com

Very comfortable and awesome for vehicle based camping.

I have used this in 40deg weather, nothing colder yet, but it worked;

1) army wool blanket is put next to mattress
2) mattress protector next to hold the army blanket in place
3) my sleeping bag

Just made this backward facing removable bench seat out of a Land Rover seat and a fence post!

Write-up here. Always wanted something like this but no-one seems to make them.

Looks good. But actually a place called little passenger seats makes exactly that-single and double rear facing jk or JKU seats. A little pricey though. Homemade is always nice.
