That's pretty cool. I was thinking it might be a good spot for a power inverter.

An excellent idea. If you're looking for lots of watts, though, bear in mind cooling/venting needs, as well as increased wire size for a longer run.

Mark, thanks for that like.I love the idea of that fuel tank. I have the AEV rear bumper and tire carrier with the fuel tank. With a combined 30 extra gallons of fuel, we would be pretty well set.

Here is one cool idea that Adventure Trailer Inc. have done to gain access to the cubby hole, when you have a drawer unit installed:

Love their stuff, but damn is it spend. My biggest problem is I have the factory sub, so I'd need to relocate it.

I have a 2012 Unlimited Rubicon and removed my sub completely and replaced the plastic panel with one from a Sport model (without the subwoofer). I really can't tell the difference in sound
I rather have the trunk space. I am making my own drawer and slide out for my ARB fridge.

In our case, it's unclear if the 08 even had the subwoof, never the less still in the process of additions.. and one thing that's helping is finding bag that help me decide where stuff goes.. Like before our trip.. found a ludwig drum bag in the trash.. and because of it's size and shape.. fits right in the middle on top of the foam exercise pad which are used for a tent pad.
I sorely miss the Highrock storage tray subtended between the roll rails in the back.. I was in the process of altering the support beams from their current steal to lacrosse poles just to reduce the weight. all things in due time.

Oh and the speaker comment.. who can actually hear music with the doors off.. If I could use the iPad etc.. it would be in the jeep as an alternative travel source, then lets not forget solar panels..

My friend in Washington just took out his factory sub last week so he can fit a larger drawer. He was able to buy the non-sub side panel for the tub so it looks factory. He's replacing the factory OEM speakers with the Kicker Mopar replacements. May not be a good solution if you're an audiophile, but then you probably want a custom audio install anyway. For the rest of us ...

BTW: I read that the 2015s relocated the subwoofer so it doesn't take up all of that space. Perhaps that is a solution?

I'd have to do some mods to my base plate (cut a hole in it) and drawer (put a flip-top on it), but that is pretty creative.

Yea the 15s have it where the cubby on the 07-14s is. I'm not a huge audiophile, but I do like to hear my music, and when I was deciding if I wanted the Alpine system when I ordered my Jeep, I drove some with and without the sub, and with the sub it just sounded much better. Maybe I'll have to look into relocation or just deal without having one when the time comes.
