ECU Police Ticketed me for my wheels
Though I was wasn't referring to an officer not showing. But the, admittedly rare, instance when a defendant wins his case . It's not always cut and dried for the officer. Especially if you have a completely unbiased judge.
I personally think that this whole mess was a case of an officer seeing a guy drawing attention to himself and trying to shut me down. I changed insurance policies back in april. Apparently the DMV didn't get the memo and the officer didn't care to let me make the call to verify my insurance (I didn't have my current card w/ me either). They confiscated my plates as well, left me sitting on the side of the road and gave me a ticket for not having insurance either.

Though your wheel lights are cool and flashy- they are somewhat of a distraction that could potentially cause hazard because of that fact.
Just my opinion

Also- here in Sunny California, court is held during the day.

As far as the wheels go, I think everyone takes pride in what they do to their Jeep, wheather it is someone running 40" tires and a snorkel, or somone running 22" wheels. As long as you like it and take pride in it that's all that matters, but if they say the lights are illegal, I would assume they are. I know that in Iowa a vehicle is required to have one amber side marker on the front of the vehicle, and one red side marker on the rear. I know that those wheels would be classified as illegal around here if used on the highway. Also I have seen some states where if the light moves (other than emergency vehicles, and vehicle required to use warning lights) they are illegal as well.
