Don't make such a big deal out of it, keep waving and spread the gospel. Do not take it so personal, maybe they don't get it, are talking on the hands free, or not noticing you, etc. why should you feel bad? How do you know they don't feel stupid because they missed the wave until it was too late to return it?

In the early sixties hot rodders did the thumbs up then in the mid-sixties I got my first HD and it didn't take long to get the bikers salute. Then I noticed some guys didn't return because of no mods, wrong model, no colors, etc.

Don't worry about the Jeep wave, just do it!
Well stated.

A Jeep's a Jeep. I wave. I was very surprised to have a wave initiated to me from a stock XJ this morning. Keep the wave alive!

Keep waving man. Don't be so sensitive to think that modded Jeeps don't like your stock Jeep. Jeeps are Jeeps. Just because someone doesn't wave back doesn't mean they don't like your stock Jeep. Hell they might have been paying attention to something else and didn't see your Jeep altogether. Keep the dream alive and keep waving.

Oh and from a "modded Jeep"

I'm a girl and I wave at every Jeep I see. I will admit though that every morning on my drive to class I see the same woman in her Jeep and I wave to her and she has never waved back haha who the hell cares I'm gonna keep waving and maybe one day we'll stop at a red light and I'll get out and tell her she needs to start waving to me dammit!

It's funny you say that, I work for the Power Co. and I catch myself going for the wave in my line truck. It's just habit and like someone said in an earlier post it's better to give than receive so when people don't wave back don't get too excited

So then how do you wave? Steering wheel 4 finger salute or an actual spread 5 finger palm display or a vigourous wave like a hello to an old friend...?

Personally I do the Peace Sign off the wheel and if my doors are off I do the lower Peace Sign(like I do on my Harley) but out the door. However you're going to see alot of variations out there

I agree the wave is similar to riding my Harley, when on it I wave to all two-wheeled motorcycles - don't care of make or model; and yes I get more waves back from Harley riders, but we are all in the wind.

With the Jeep I wave at any Wrangler 'type' modified or not; new or old, but again I notice the 'soccer mom' driven (usually 4 door models) wave back less - I'm a giving person so I don't care if they do or don't.

It's because they need two hands on the wheel due to DW.
