Why the 2 door?
The wife has a 4dr truck (Ford Sport Trac) so if we need room we take that, but I also have found when wheelin' that a 4dr Unlimited will get 'hung up' or 'high centered' in places I just cruise over - that and the traditional looks of the 2dr sold me!
Was it Bill Cosby that said, mess up the laundry and then you don't have to do any laundry for the rest of your life?
I got the 2 door because;
1) I have kids.
2) Like the traditional looks.
3) I have kids.
Got the two door, every one wanted to ride in it. the kids (who are 25 and 21) got in the back seat 3 times, said screw this, we going in mom's ford edge and 5 minutes later the back seat come out and has not left the garage since. This is one dude that is not brain damaged!

I bought a 2 door for one reason.......its completely and utterly impractical in any way. As has been stated before about all the reasons to buy a 4 door, those are the reasons I bought a 2 door. I don't want to haul people around, I don't care how much crap I can get in it, its a vehicle that was built for one reason....to enjoy driving, and it does that perfectly
I got the 2 door because when I was younger thats all they had and I really wanted one, but couldnt afford it. So now that I can (barely, expensive habbit) I wanted a 2 door to feel more like the YJ's I wanted back in the day. Plus now I dont have to drive everyone around...its kind of nice.
1. I drive around by myself 90% of the time.
2. I put off buying a Jeep for years because I heard the 3.8 was gutless. Turns out, in a 2 door 6 speed, it's not that bad. But I definitely wouldn't want to have to drag a 4 door around with it
3. MPGs - In hilly WV, I get close to 20mpg in daily driving.
4. Maneuverability - my previous vehicle was a 2004 F150. Now when I whip my 2 door JK around the mall parking lot I feel like I'm driving a lifted Ford Focus or something

I don't have a need for a 4-door since I'm single and have no kids. That, and I just don't like the appearance of 4-door vehicles. Plus, the classic Jeep style has always been a 2-door. Same with the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Corvette and the Porsche 911. The 2-door also makes parking lot maneuvers easy.
