Default What types of switches are you using

I'm thinking of using a momentary NC switch when I do this mod, but I'd love to see a variety of switches and mounting locations. Post a pic of you have one!

I used the flush-mount anti-vandal switch for sale on superbrightled.com or oznium.

Just did mine. The hardest part was getting the plug off he black box so I could cut and splice the wire. Thanks for the thread when I could barely climb the silver lake sand dunes in 2wd this summer I almost lost hope. Can't wait for next summer to get at it again. Time for a shot of angels envy whiskey, cheers.

I also thought about a momentary switch, but couldn't find any I liked, so I used a rubber covered switch

It's actually difficult to find a momentary NC switch. Lots of momentary NO switches, but not so many NC. I found one that is supposed to be able to be wired as either NC or NO (this one). I'll just have to wait until it gets here to see if it'll work or not. I'm not sure how to wire it to meet the NO/NC needs I have, nor how to wire it to control the LED ring. I'm no electrician...

Thats the same switch I have installed, but I didn't wire up the LED ring as I didn't want the light on all the time.

It's a PITA to solder onto the terminals but patience is a virtue..

Here's a wiring diagram for the switch.

Anti-vandal LED Switch, ring style - Push Button on/off Switch

Awesome, thanks! So, looking at the diagram, can you tell me exactly which wires went on which poles? Sorry, I have the wiring know-how of an entitled 7 year old girl...

The link in my prior post shows a pic of the back of the switch so you know exactly what to do if you want the switch to light up.

I did not want it to light up, so I only soldered wires to terminals NO1 and C1 (as labeled in the pic from the previously provided link)

If you dont' want to solder, buy the switch from Oznium, they sell them pre-soldered. if you don't want it to light up, juts don't connect the ground wire.
