I am still not certain about 1 thing:

Is it necessary to remove the adhesive back from the bases?

Or do you just place the glue on the adhesive back?
I would take it off, one less thing to come loose.

I agree - better to take it off then to have to pull the whole thing apart again

my local ACE hardware had the clover leaf metal panel shown above, they also had aluminum screen door protectors pre-painted in white. I bought one of the white door protectors thinking that the white paint on the aluminum would be like a primer base for me to paint it black, but went ahead and installed it as is just to see what white would look like. it fit great after some ez trimming...

I'm in the middle of doing a bumper install, so had the grill off already. It took all of 30 min's to do the grill mod.

The door panel was $37 at ACE. Lowe's had 6" x 20' or so rolls of gutter guard material for only a few bucks if one wanted to go that route.

Does anyone use a hood lock (something like this http://www.quadratec.com/products/13103_100.htm"])?
If thus, how can you open the lock with the grill mod?

Cheers

I don't mind at all. Actually, it's an honor. A Dremel and some black Rustoleum and was able to use my Mopar hood lock with my Rampage Grill insert.
