Old Man Emu 2" Lift Installation Write-Up
Anybody know more about the Northridge4x4 package deal? What brand traction bars? Is it a HD or just regular? I too just installed the XHD bumper with stinger and winch. I'm guessing about 150-170lbs. Also going to get the XHD rear bumper.
I got the OME HD with the trackbars. Pretty good deal if you ask me. I got the trackbars today and the lift is coming tomorrow. I purchased this less than a week ago. David is great and Northridge4x4.com is really a great place to shop Jeep toys.

Quick question for those of you who have installed this kit - in the write-up it says to skip to step 4 if you have a manual transmission. Once you get to step 23 tells you to reconnect the track bar but disconnecting the trackbar was in step 3 (which I should be skipping). Bottom line - do I have to disconnect the front track bar when installing this lift if I have a manual transmission?

Well I had an event full day. I got my lift from ups. At 7:00pm :angry:

It was still kinda light outside so I figured hey why not at least start it tonight. I went outside and jacked the Jeep up then all of a sudden its the leaning tower of Jeepa.

No damage to the Jeep thank god from what I could tell. However when it dropped the lug nuts where loose and that bothered me. Ill be sure to inspect the studs tomorrow.
GRRRRRR. Good thing I gave my self a 100 dollar cushion for install material. I went out to the advanced auto and got my self a 2.5 ton floor jack. That thing is a monster! It jacked the rear end up high and fast. To bad I had to buy it cuz I killed my emergency jack.
So 2 lessons learned today
1-Always leave yourself with a few dollars for problems during any upgrades.
2-Never jack the car with that damn Jeep jack unless you HAVE to.
O yea and I did not get any stickers with my lift. I wasted a lot of time at work daydreaming where I was going to put those things.
Maybe I can get David to send me out some if I give em a few bucks.

Initially I got 3.75" front, and 3.25" rear of lift. Added the RR bumper, winch, and full size 35" spare, and wheeled it a bit and it only settled 1/2" in the front, and the rear was unchanged. I added 3/4" spacers to the front, and it is very close, if not dead on, level.
I would't hesitate to install te HD kit, even if you never intend on running aftermarket bumpers, winch, etc. The ride and handling of the HD kit is significantly beter than stock.
Don't let the "HD" confuse you, the ride is actually quite soft and having taken mine wheeling on a few occasions I can say it flex's like crazy.
Somebody already asked this question, but I didn't see it answered anywhere...
The Teraflex BB kit comes with longer swaybar links for the rear (and you move the stock rear links to the front). Do I not need longer links with this kit (and if not, why not)? Or will I need to buy longer swaybar links separately. I have a Rubi with the electronic disconnect, if that matters.
