Stubby front bumper without plastic cover
just did my first mod this weekend, and it turned out pretty good i think. i cant say that this is something i want to keep for ever but it will do for now. I made do with the outer plastic shell and cut it up for pieces. i cut the old fog light mounts out and JB welded them behind the gutter mesh then ran a self tapping screw through the top and bottom for added strength.

I did mine this past weekend.
I sanded everything down to the bare metal, primed it with Duplicolor automotive primer, then used Duplicolor truck bed coating.
I bought some 12ga sheet metal from Home Depot and fabricated some brackets, and used bolts to hold everything together. The washers hold everything in place, including the gutter guard.
Another bonus in using the bolts & washers, is that I can adjust the angle of the lights if I needed to. It all lined up the first time, surprisingly.
Be sure to re-aim your fog lights after installation.
I plan on blacking out the mesh and bolts as soon as the poor weather clears out and I can paint again.
Next step:
Install a winch plate from Harbor Freight or Summit Racing. That will cover the area between the bumper and grill. I plan on Duplicor bed coating that, as well.

Thanks for these pics...
Just made all the cuts on the stock bumper. Headed out for some sheet metal, bolts and mesh tomorrow. Have some rugged ridge clevis hooks that will mount right up. Hoping to box in the angled edges with sheetmetal then prime and duplicolor. .
